Why cut anything out? There are several spare pins in the plug. Other Nato countries use them, but US vehicles don't. Just use pins M & N. And that keeps your blackout system intact. You might have to run new wires to the receptacle on the truck and then on from the plug on the trailer.

The biggest problem with more speed is the stopping. Steering also seems not as good at 60+, and I have gone through it with a fine tooth comb.
Sounds like you probably found your problem. If it still continues and the fuel pump and other lines appear ok, it is probably the sock on the pickup tube plugged up. Drove me crazy on mine till I changed it.
