Update on this project: I have now been paid in full by MidnightDuramax for the crane I sold to him in return for delivery of my other two.
Now I hope to get my license plates shortly so I can load the cranes up in the back of the deuce and take them to the car-wash. I need to clean off 15...
Update: Eric has been in touch with me and we have made payment arrangements.
This weekend I stenciled the truck, so I am ready to submit for title paperwork. The truck will basically sit while the budget recovers for a set of Jatonka's spin on oil filters. I have made my own in the past...

Gave Jungle Driveline a call and they couldn't make me a set without knowing full dimensions, or having the name they were ordered under. I'm trying to capitalize on your work as I can see rust on mine.
Care to define dirt cheap and/or provide the necessary dimensions?
More painting today. Wheels and troop seats.
I wanted black wheels, Wife wanted green wheels. With the solid green paint, I think it will look better with green wheels. If I camo it, I can always swap the inner duals out and paint them black.
Need one more coat before dark. Letting the...
Made more progress yesterday and today. Got the rust holes patched. I think the passenger door is shot long term, but I have a lead on a replacement.
Primered some spots where I had bare metal, then masked and painted today.
I went with Valspar Duramax paint. I grabbed a bunch of paint...
Could you just unstrap the entire fuel tanks and lift off with a forklift? That way each one has the fuel pump inside, or are the 5 Tons different in this regard?
Used to love Pillsbury Crossing when I was at K-state.
I took the 69 deuce in my sig out there a few times. Also had a VW Baja bug and used to try climbing the embankments where the water turns. The attached photos were from a trip I took from Ames,IA to Manhattan on motorcycle in '05...
Ah, that is the beauty of the cranes I bought. Self contained, complete with battery and gas motor to drive the hydraulics. Thus, all I would have to do is unbolt the crane and drive away. However.... I don't have powered outriggers, but I am thinking of using semi trailer jacks on each side.
Well, I bought a few days ago and picked it up today. I put the rust filter on the camera, so these pictures look pretty good, but it does have a few rust spots.
I have today and tomorrow off, weather looks good over the weekend, so I am just crazy enough to think I can get the rust filled...

Haven't found what happened next!
I'm going to be travelling on I70 through PA on Dec 24, headed to Des Moines Iowa. Looks like I could swing north and pick it up. Could he load me on Saturday, Christmas Eve?
I will be in a rental pickup, so need a way to load/unload.
Look for a "torque multiplier"
3/4" is not overkill if you are doing hub and wheel work.
Definitely heavy jack stands and a jack, though a bottle jack and assortment of 4x4 lumber will work in a pinch.
A press may be used occasionally, but you may be able to get by with a socket collection...
Well, I have two of the cranes are now sitting safely behind my garage. MidnightDuramax received the load and and delivered them from Newark for me.
Background: I had found a commercial transporter willing to haul all three cranes for $400 when Midninghtduramax PM’d me offering cash and...
