No baffles in the tank or did they rot out? I see what may have been the remains of some in there. Yup, patch it and seal it and just keep your eyes peeled for one to pop up. I am guessing it was a more or less universal tank for all of the GMC trucks? Or was it specific to that truck?

I have followed this thread from Day one and have always advocated the use of the truck as it was originally purposed. That said, I am also a wise arse who likes to joke around a lot so if I have offended anyone in the process I apologize. I will make no more comments on this thread unless asked...

I owned a 4x4 shop so yes, it did get taken care of as soon as I got back. As far as the drill, ask any of the guys in the shop here where I work, If they were reading this they would all be laughing, pointing at me and nodding yes.

Easy there my friend, I said it was extenuating circumstances! I have probably 30 plus spindle nut sockets in the garage. Those torques are much higher than what I am used to dealing with on light duty trucks, with them it is in the 45 ft/lbs. range. And I learned about using all three points on...

In the picture of the bearing nuts on the truck bed rail are the ones with the collar also threaded? Lock nut probably? Never saw one like that. I have to admit I have used the punch method to remove spindle nuts in the past but the circumstance were a bit different. Middle of nowhere with a...

I can see that Zout's A/C guy is catching the green disease. The picture phase is always where it starts. He will be hanging around the garage sweeping floors next and then he will be at the auctions. I see it coming.

Bingo! I try to explain to guys nowadays about asbestos brakes and they tell me that they have not been made from asbestos since the 70's. I say yea, and when do you think those NOS brakes are from? And some heavy truck brakes were made from asbestos going well into the 80's. I have a five...
