My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

It was a beautiful day to work on the truck! The sun was shining and there was a nice breeze all day. The first thing I did was go rob some more parts off of the A2 parts truck. I needed a brake wedge assembly and a set of shocks. Once I was done fighting that mess I went to work on the...

My BIG M925A2 Project Truck Is Home

So, what kind of (in)sane person gets up at 5:30 am on their day off in 30 degree weather to drive an hour to a salvage yard where he will work on a giant, rusty, heap of a MV all day???? That's me!! I am hoping to get the air brakes, t-case shift linkage, and throttle linkage all working...

    Seabee bulldozer???

Man, those trucks are nice! The trailer in the foreground looks like a detachable gooseneck. I didn't realize they had those.

    Seabee bulldozer???

Good point. The manuals usually list 5-tons as having a 5 ton cargo capacity off-road and 10 on road. Same thing with the towed weight. The 939 -10 only list the off-road capacities. My 925A2 should have a better towing capacity than a dually civi truck! :-P The air brakes on the truck...

    New SS.com Chaplain Selected

Hello members, It has taken me a long time to get over the fact that David AM30+ is gone. That's why we have been so long without a Chaplain. I apologize to those who have been in need and haven't had anyone to talk to. I am pleased to announce that a long time Steel Soldiers member...

    Seabee bulldozer???

Good question. I would like to have one to work and to show. My family always has some dirt moving projects to tend to and a dozer would be handy. I'm not talking about clearing 10 acres of land with it. More like grading, back-filling, road maintenance. The downside to hauling it with my...

    Seabee bulldozer???

I have seen a bunch of big 6x6 International trucks around here pulling the Navy's big boat trailers. I have my eye on an an old-school International already. It's not a Seabee-marked truck, but it has the US Navy markings on the side. That's good for me that they used so many different...

    Seabee bulldozer???

Great story, Jim. I bet that kind of stuff happened more than we will ever know.

    Seabee bulldozer???

Man, I forgot about that one. What a deal.

    Seabee bulldozer???

Very cool! I will keep my eyes out for one of those! I love authenticity! Wow, what an excavator! Thanks Eric. I didn't know you guys used the international series. I will watch for one of those too.

    Seabee bulldozer???

Hmmm, that's where my truck came from so that would be more realistic. Come to think of it, I think I saw a couple of D8's with Seabee markings sitting in the GL lot when I picked up my 925A2 corpse.

    Seabee bulldozer???

Chris, that's a nice looking D4. Easy size to tote around too. I may have to go bigger to get something period correct though, huh? Ron, I love those airborne crawlers, but man they are $$$. Maybe I just need to get a M548A1 instead?! Those are awesome. Love the screaming...

    Seabee bulldozer???

Hmm, D7's are a little big for me unless I end up doing a 915 tractor and lowboy trailer. My 925A2 was missing the doors when I got it, but my 923A2 had the Seabee stencil on both doors. My 925A2 has the stencil on both mud flaps. I plan on doing the doors after I get it painted and...

    Seabee bulldozer???

I seem to keep ending up with Seabee trucks because of where I live. M923A2 was a Seabee truck and now I have the Seabee 925A2. My Dad has a Seabee M756A2 too. I like the Seabee stuff since it is unique so I am going to keep going with that theme. I have been talking with my brother about...

    Anybody seen my old M817?

That's pretty neat, Mark. There are a few members on here that have access to old records. Do you have any pics of the data plate? Maybe one of them will chime in if you have some numbers to go off of. If you have 35mm prints, you can always take them to a photo center and they can scan the...

Fifth Wheel Looks Different on My 818

Neat looking hitch. Definitely not the usual M818 5th wheel that I have seen. Here's some more info: http://www.thehollandgroupinc.com/NR/rdonlyres/5F182375-66FA-49BA-BA19-D00CBBB9F71F/0/XLFW36401pdf_noorder.pdf
