No M56 is the long wheelbase chassis used for R2, V41,XM142, and the long wheel base pick up was called the M283.. :) Had to dig the book out to get it straight myself. Maintenance truck is the V41 later to become the M201.
Racoons make good summer sausage. Mix in some muskrat and venison to kill the stink. The pelt is now a Davy Crockett spy hat complete with built in digital camera. Gymp! You did contribute ! The power train might be a 4BT I have collecting dust or maybe a 360V8. I wish I could find a NV4500 that...
Gathering up parts to create a WC/M37 and whatever else I can weld, glue, construct, dig out of scrap pile to make it work for a 6x6.. God help me! One day I will scream "It's alive! It's alive!:shock:
Welcome to the disease! They will pile up fast in the yard and you will look twice at every possible sleeping spot, clump of steal, or patch of OD for a old MV to save. Put a post in the transportation needs section here on Steel Soldiers. The SS train has many rails and tends to travel...
If that truck has been sitting for 20 years I recommend dumping trans fluid or Marvin Mystery oil down each cylinder and let her sit for a few weeks. She is probably froze up.. To bad your so far away. I have all the parts you need. Clutch and or parking brake might be stuck too. Ask for a:grin...
Good beds can be found and depending on what you want to spend Midwest Military makes a complete floor replacement that in my opinion when you add up labor and materials to try and do it yourself is a good price. I can't believe I forgot about the g741 site! Sorry Robi!.. Lots of very...

I will do some more scraping to double check those numbers. I will also measure the wheelbase. Pretty sure it is a WC51. It has a M37 cab retrofitted to the WC drive line and frame. I call it baby Frankenstein:)
I have a WC 62 rear suspension, tranfer case, and frame that was cut off behind the cab. My intention was to build a 6x6 M37 but the frames and axle width are not the same. So I am just checking on some specs. Weighing my options as they say.
Is the front end on the Dodge WC62/63's exactly the same as the WC51/52 trucks? Same frame rail size? Same front springs? Are both vehicles geared the same? I see the WC's are 3 inches wider than the M37 frame and axle mounts. Any info on the difference between the two would be most appreciated.
