HUH?!?!?
I GOOGLED "power splitter" and this came up...
How's that gonna help deliver electricity to all the modern conveniences of home at a campsite?

Congratz on the new-to-you truck.
You may find some OTHER helpful information regarding Texas Former Military Vehicles in the TxFMV thread linked in my signature Block below.
Wanting to build a Disaster Response Vehicle is a noble ambition indeed.
Before you go much further I HIGHLY recommend that you take a few moments and read SARGE's story of his epic HURRICANE KATRINA mission with his Deuce.... The link is found in this thread...
Uh, what to you consider the BIG one??
<--- This is the BIG one we got when we acquired our XM818. The MSO used it on their APC's.
<--- Here's our BIG one next to the rear drivers on the XM818.
<--- Here's a good comparison between that "big" tow bar for a Deuce or 5-Ton next to the BIG one...
I can relate.
At 5'8" the standard bows are right at the "Whack-Your-Head" height. I keep bows installed without a cover just for the "looks" of a military vehicle. Hence, a head-whacker all the time.
I'm sure the designers had a reason to keep the trucks height to a certain specification...
IF your MV is registered as a TxFMV (Texas Former Military Vehicle) then most probably certain aspects of the OPERATOR'S VEHICLE INSPECTION KNOWLEDGE will be perceived by the Testing Official (may not be a SHE) as NON-COMPLIANT with current production vehicle standard since most MV's pre-date...
Congratz to Big Mike! Winner of the popular vote of opinions and persuasions.
In my view - EVERY MV is a winner in some regard. And this is not a contest of quantitative measurement, but a very NON-scientific casting of whimsical opinions.
Lets keep it FUN ! Please.
:-D
The square holes are "lightning holes".... You know - Where you stow your Lightning Bolts (they aren't ROUND).
Uh... Wait a minute.... Surely I'm mistaken. They must be LIGHTENING HOLES - as in, "deleting" unnecessary structural material so as to LIGHTEN the vehicle. But let's face it...
If anyone is going to hold their breath awaiting the release of LATV's to the populace, I would highly recommend they install a FORDING KIT on themselves.... It's going to be a LONG, LONG TIME underwater until any surface at auction.
"Bless me, Father, for I have an MV addiction....."
...And who says I don't already claim the costs of that Green Iron Enterprise on a Schedule C ????rofl
Those expenses are absolutely UNREIMBURSED!!!
In fact, by the good graces of another SS Member here I already have a "starters set" of US...
I am already chasing some leads on that acquisition. Can't say it's an "active" search... more passive right now... but if the Good Lord drops one in front of me you can rest assured I'll be checking it out [thumbzup]
