So, I watched the local auctions. Found one nearby. New multifuel, for five ton, with power steering pump in the container. Went to bid today. Good Grief! Wow! $1,500! *** Link Removed due to Rules ***

    20 Minute Install--Locking Hubs

I got the jatonka locking hubs in the morning mail. Well built with easy directions. They stick out only one inch further than the stock hub. They appear bulkier because of the locking mechanism and taller because of the locking dial. Astounded that it took only 20 minutes to remove the...

    Thank You, Bjorn!!!!

He made me one of his bullet proof blinker thingies. :D Easy to follow instructions and a quick install. No more buying blinker blinkers for the deuce! Neat, neat neat. Pics Monday, maybe.

    Slave Cable Install ?

Got the two pin slave cables. How are they hooked up to the batteries? I could not find a TM section on them. Of course my search was limited and it is easier to ask the experts here. :D

    Warning Lights Question

I have been working on the lighting system, changing out the flasher and seeking out shorts. All was working well. Then....................... A couple of days ago the right rear warning light quit flashing. Then, yesterday the left rear quit. Both bulbs appear to be OK. The front marker...

    Drag Link Kit from Memphis

I put the $38 drag link kit from Memphis on the deuce today. The old sockets were so worn the lube grooves had disappeared. I am not sure it made a big difference in wheel wobble problems but with the steering gear rebuilt and the new tie rod ends, the steering will be virtually new. :)

    Coolant Change!

What a chore. Started by draining the radiator and leaving a five gallon bucket full for two days undisturbed. When emptied it had a 1/8 inch or so of silt, for lack of a better word, on the bottom of the bucket. I am at the refill and drain stage, fifth, down to minor discoloration. I will...

    odiron Coolant Filter Kit

I got the kit in the mail this week. Took about ten minutes to mount it, just as Bjorn did. http://steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=9611&highlight=coolant+filter The kit is complete, less heater hose. Just look at the photo in the thread and duplicate. Nothing to it.

    Drag Link--How Tight?

My drag link moves up and down with hand pressure. No movement back and forth. How tight is it supposed to be? :?:

    Coolant Filters

I got the odiron coolant filter kit for the M35. I noticed the filter was a wix 24070. While cruising about I came up with anther variant on another website as a wix 24074. My local O'Reilly did not carry that number. On another unrelated web search I came across NAPA #'s 4070, 4071,4072...

    Front End Wobble?

When the deuce hits a bump it begins to shimmy and wobble violently. I have read that the tires, NDCC, when worn unevenly cause most of the problem. Any thoughts on changing the tires, left to right and vice versa, for curing the problem? I am assuming it is the wear pattern and the harmonics...

Beginning to Think I Can Do Anything!

I had worked on cars in my teens and have always been fairly mechanically inclined through my life. But, a year ago, the M35 looked fairly spooky. Strange motor, strange wiring, strange this and strange that were daunting. In the past week I have finished rebuilding the steering gear box...

    Shopping Around

I wanted new tie rod ends, may as well replace the entire steering while I am at it. So, naturally I called Memphis got a quote for them and the drag link repair kit. Seemed kind of high priced, I thought. Shopped around and found Memphis the lowest cost of any. First time I can recall that...

Patience With the Steering Gear Pays Off.

I have been working on fixing the steering gear. What a task. No one has adequately covered what is involved here. First, were I doing it over, I would recommend trying to remove the most upper rear bolt from the steering gear cover. If you cannot do that then an experience awaits...

    Steering gear gaskets

I am rebuilding the steering gear and found water inside. Not a great deal of it but still water. It turned some of the oil and dirt into kind of a mud. The steering arm seal was hard as a rock. Replace it if you are concerned about yours.

    Replacement Starter Question

I got a used starter for the multi-fuel motor from miltrucks. Took it to the local starter shop. The owner looked at it and suggested that a GM AC-Delco starter converted to 24 volts would be interchangeable. Any thoughts?
