Funny...I just read what your taking about. I also read that you can't go over 400hp on the 4L80...we will still be under 300 I believe...even with the added turbo. Will keep you posted. Thanx for all your help brother!
Has anyone done the 6BT cummins (24 valve) swap and used the same 4L80E tranny?
I need some help with my 6BT swap. Can you you help? Thnx - TEXAS HUMVEE
Has anyone done the 6BT cummins (24 valve) swap and used the same 4L80E tranny? I have an 1151 with a turbo and I am not happy with the power. I also have a free cummins motor. Any help would be appreciated.
We have been having an issue with steam coming from the passenger side area when ever we are going over 45 50 miles an hour. Does not smell like coolant. Humvee has a non-working A/C unit. Heater and blower still work. Thanx!
Steam coming from passenger side floor area - M1151-A1 Turbo
I pulled out the gear shaft and just as I thought, the shaft from the sending unit had broken off into the gear shaft. Tried like hell to get it out. Finally just pulled another one out of another 1151 and replaced everything.
Tried to replace the electronic sending unit. Looks as though the square ended shaft broke off inside the opening to the transfer case. WTF do I do now? Here's what the sending unit looks like and a photo of an unbroken shaft. Shaft won't go into the whole as it seems there is a piece of the...
And how does one know the difference between the two? I see no info on installation, or anything anywhere that is of any help. We tried a couple times to get the gasket on without any success.
I have both size belts. I think the pully from the 400 sticks out too far to use on the 200, so I guess I need a regular 200 pully...lol...right?

I am taking out a 400amp gen and replacing it with a 200amp. May I have a after-market part# for the pully I need...also, do I need to change out a bracket? Thnx
Lol...thank you, but that's why I asked if a bad speed sensor would keep the trans light from going on. So your saying no, the light should still come on if the speed sensor if broken. I had checked everything else.
Question is...if the speed sensor is not working, will it keep the trans light from coming on? The 1097 I am working on is getting power to the TCM, and I have jumped the A and E on the diagnostic port on the TCM. Still no tranny light at all.
