    Old Chevy truck questions

The 1 ton panel van is a 1956. I am aware of the sheetmetal/body changes. What I am trying to figure out is the frame. Are they the same or will the 56 frame work with the older front body panels. I located a 1940 and a 1942 stake trucks with good cabs and fenders. But they have the 5 lug stake...

    One side dim? Ground? Where?

Thanks for that manual Maxim I saved it to my compooper. On the manual wiring diagram it shows a ground next to each headlight. Mine did not have that. The ground from the left side went back into the harness over to the other side and was grounded next to the right side headlight. It was just...

    One side dim? Ground? Where?

I know this is most likely a ground issue because we all know the electrical gremlins that plague these trucks.BUT? WWII Dodge combat rim studs/nuts needed

I will not be at Aberdeen.. It sounds like your talking about the 1-1/2 lug nuts.. I am looking for the specific nuts used to hold the two pieces of the combat rim together. They are all right hand thread with a built in washer and rounded off edges on the face. 1 1/16 size I think..

    Findlay parts(2011)

Northern Michigan OD Woods Gnome technology at its finest. After some more abuse of the yard whore I might have got it so it will at least hold Spedmons lights in on the way to Ohio. The right side latch is a still screwed up but with some banging and maybe a little tack or two it should work...

    Old Chevy truck questions

Let me start by saying I do not know much at all about the old Chevy trucks from the late 30's to late 40's. But here are my thoughts.. I located a 1956 Chevy 4x2 panel van/Suburban truck. It has heavy springs, the longer wheelbase and 8 lug axles. I am considering building a LRDG Chevy look...

    16 inch rim for m1009

Some of the older skinny rims are the right offset but not deep enough to clear the front brake calipers. The newer negative offset rims are mostly 16" but are a bigger metric stud size compared to the 7/16 stud on the m1009. They also do not have a hole big enough to clear the front lockout...
