Well, he had a plumbing issue and inexperience with hydraulics. You don't have to run the power steering and a/c pump in tandem and I would not do it. I still think it is an interesting idea.

You may want to consider a hydraulic driven A/C pump like Sean's "Abel" on Youtube.
