Rather than switching the gear on the drive as Jeff did, we take the M75 shaft and simply shorten it and mill the distributor drive slot in it. We've done 5 like this. We also use the MOPAR electronic ignition system you can buy from most suppliers like Summit, then run it through a 24/12...
For that M75 engine, do yourself a BIG favor and put a civilian electronic ignition system on it. You can then run civilian plugs, but mostly, it will run SO much better. The GI is really weak. An Edelbrock 1406
carb is a must as well.
I have used both min spirits or Xylene for over 18 years and had equally good results. I do not suggest a hardner for shine reasons but also I do not think it is needed for wear.
The British military is presently releasing many more 432s in the UK. Nice ones can be had there for less than $14,000. Shipping to the States for about $5K. But, here in the States, these are considered oversized, hence special shipping permits for each state.

AM General, just out of curiosity I did a quick mileage check. Morganton/Carlisle = 464mis. Morganton/Louisville = 413 mi. Maybe not as much closer than you thought?
I sure will not be going. Passing up one of the very best MVPA Conventions is not in my plans. If their goal is to grow and gain greater participation from the MV public, this appears very counter-productive. I can understand maintaining a certain exclusivity, but a separation within easy reach...
