    your camping trailer loadout recommendations

Mike, You ain't exactly a small guy, are you planning to leave room for yourself in there? For those who have never seen his infamous butane stove...................think campfire and stove all rolled into one. Fire extinguisher is a REAL good idea, X 2. I think your list is very viable, couple...

    1984 M1009 Trans Problems

I put a Trans-Go shift improver kit in every trans I do. And the cooler. You do not need the shift reprogramming kit, they are different. The improver kit will raise the line pressure where needed to prevent slipping and it will not give the neck breaking shifts that some of the other kits do...

turning up fuel and egt questions

You got me there, I never met him personally other than to see him at Bonneville. Got to say hello and ask a couple of questions, that was about it. Rick

    Asbestos Remediation and the M820

If you have 9" X 9" floor tile then it is asbestos. BUT! It is nowhere near as bad as insulation since the asbestos is encapsulated. I have been replacing my subfloor so I have had to deal with it. As long as you are not grinding it or cutting it with a power saw you are not going to be putting...

M916 with a laid over trailer

Have you tried getting off of that pin? Not likely to happen, there is a LOT of stress on that truck right now. Do not let anyone near it if you try. Probably have to get the trailer lifted a bit to relieve the pressure on the pin. Be sure to check out the saddle bolts very well afterwards.

new here, I want a tank

That is the correct way to do it, gather information and research. Unlike most of us who just jumped in head first.aua Rick

new here, I want a tank

Well like they say, pictures or it didn't happen. You HAVE pictures! I actually forgot about that one, I guess that was the one he was referring to. I was thinking more along the lines of some of the other Darwin candidates I have seen. Rick

turning up fuel and egt questions

Just remember, you are hot rodding a 50 year old engine that had a dismal reliability record in stock form. Stock up on extra engines! Rick P.S. You might want to talk to the school administrators about what they are teaching you! The teachers need some teaching. You need to learn the basics...

new here, I want a tank

Replacing a track on a D8 is a nightmare and we used an excavator! I can't imagine a tank where it is bigger, a LOT heavier and the track is not exposed. Rick

    transmission swaps

If you are breaking 400's like that then they are being built wrong. Plain and simple. A buddy of mine has built these for years for everything from daily drivers to pro dragsters. A lot of pro street cars use them along with the 700R4 which is nothing more than a modified 400. What are you...

Permits? We don't need no stinkin' permits! We got our own bridge!!!!!:D

new here, I want a tank

Don't forget moving said tank from A to B. Lot's of overweight and oversize permits and a truck big enough to do the job. You will be restricted from crossing a LOT of bridges so you could have to drive over a hundred miles just to go ten. Rick

Newbie looking to bid on Mep-003a

Have you checked the classifieds on here? I know there is one person on here with a couple for sale, or did have. I can't think of his name right off the bat, I hate getting old. Depending on your house you might only need an 002. They will put out a solid 7500 watts. Rick

New Old Warn Winch 8274 Install

I have the older 8274 with the original motor, not the newer 3.X hp motor. It would do all of the above mentioned things. Was your winch new or used? Check all of the wire connections on the contacts in the control box. There are four solenoids in there, make sure all are clean and tight. This...

New Old Warn Winch 8274 Install

That winch should very easily drag that truck with all four wheels locked and dug in. If it can't then something is wrong. I woould guess the cables going to it are too small, too long, or bad connections. Like I said before, I have the very same winch and have pulled with it for 40 years until...
