Even stock horns hurt the ears of little kids when I honk beside them. And they are always waving and want me to honk, so I do.
Ill look at the horns, they are very finicky. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Now they don't work, maybe with pressure loss, debris falls away and when...
It's inspection time, so went around truck and found that the high beams didn't work. Found broken wire right at the plug that takes wiring harness to the hood. No way to easily solder it since it broke flush at the plug. Traced down #17 wire, and cut it and made a jumper. Happened to have a #17...
I am switching 2 trucks to 16.00's in the next two weeks. So I'll have 14 of the 14's gathering dust for a while. Until I get a truck that needs new shoes or I decide to switch back.
I know 395's are the sensible choice. Increased acceleration off the line, cheaper, common etc. but, I didn't...
Those 16.00's are big tires. I mean big. You can't fit as many as you think! How long is the trailer?
I have 8, with HEMTT wheels on a 16' trailer now. No room for engine and tranny I think stacking 4 tall is a bad idea. They are strapped down tight, but it still scares me. Only 60 miles to go.
Yeah, someone responded to a thread earlier this week about clearance. Said that with no load in the bed of his 923(A2?), his tires rubbed lightly at full articulation.
is that in your HET? Sweet setup. Not familiar with the inside of a HET, do they have that area built out like that stock? Thanks for the picture. Looks cool.
thanks. That's the other option I'm considering. It's awkward if you mount them flat. They would need to be canted at an angle so the faces were toward you. But, I suppose that is possible as well.
I may do this for overhead light and possibly some switches. So many options. So little money!
That looks nice. I have a big piece of 3/8x8" aluminum plate staring at me from the corner of the garage after a boat project that I could use. I was actually thinking of making different accent plates out of aluminum with a unique finish on it that I used on the boat. Came out real nice. Thanks...
I have two options that I am considering. Overhead in the center, or mounted on back wall above AC.
I also have a mechanical oil pressure gauge and half a dozen or so switches to mount to a panel around the gear shift. I will likely build a center console to house the two group 31's and my...
Common sense would tell me to lift the bed 2" since you added 4" of tire. Also, since 14.00's rub the bed slightly, how about switching that 1x board that is between bed and rail now, for a 4x4?
I saw a pic from 98G where it was done. Anyone else do it?
This is quite a resourceful crowd, and I know there are some awesome ideas out there about where to mount your boxes on a VIC-1 or VIC-3 system in a 5 ton or deuce.
I have a NOS hard top in my garage and was placing boxes in different places in the truck to see what's best so I could mount a...
Ironically, I tested both as I have two of each. I put a bose on one box and a Racal on the other. I thought the Racal barely beat out the Bose. However, the difference is so slight, I really can't say one is better than the other.
This was in a silent environment. Have yet to test it at...
