Yeah, I liked it a whole lot, but some big bidder liked it even more. He bought 3 other 939 trucks in the same auction. The one I was talking about in the post above was an Army truck in PA. The 927A1 in SC went for $4000+ and it needed a lot of work.
Man, what a treat on a Friday afternoon!! I was standing in the waiting area in the front of my office and we have big display windows all the way across the front. I just happened to look out the windows and a HEMTT rolls by bigger than life! I about dropped my computer as I ran to the door...
I would scuff it with some fine grit paper to ensure good adhesion, wipe it down with some xylene, and spray bomb the heck out of it. I vote for OD, but paint the Chevy emblem flat black :)
Hey guys,
I did a little hauling for a fellow member this week out of Portsmouth. It was really easy for me to get in and out of there with my load. I have a trailer capable of carrying a 1009, 1008 or similarly sized vehicles. My hauling rates are very reasonable. If anyone needs anything...
Not for me, but for a fellow SS member. It looks like he did really well too. The truck is clean and straight. It was really easy for me to get it loaded since it started and drove. It towed pretty easy behind the Excursion. The gang at Julien's is pretty nice to deal with. I hope to go...
RE: Getting Better
Finally got mine today for a M35A2 that I already sold :) I sent the form in on 4/14/08 and the FedEx man showed up 10 weeks later. Still waiting on another one submitted at the same time. Arghhh.
A GM dealer will do it, but you will have to show proof of ownership of the vehicle. Your title will work nicely. I am moving this to the CUCV forum for you.
If you would like to add an electric fuel pump to make fuel filter changes, water draining, priming after repairs, etc... easier, then you can use a 12v electric pump from a late 80's 6.2L civi truck. I wired it with an inline fuse to an ign. on circuit on the fuse block and used GM...
Dang rims are rare as hen's teeth. I have 4 and am looking for more. Looks like the only way to get a complete set is to buy a residue truck from GL :D I let a 927A1 go last month that had a full set. Final bid was $2550 I think. It had potential. There should be a better supply as more...
I ran Dexron III in my 923A2's Allison auto. That was one of the fluids listed in the LO. Bruce Kubu spoke with an Allison service technician when he started acquiring 939 trucks and he said the Dexron III would be just fine. It's a bunch cheaper in the 5 gallon pail from NAPA.
Hi Jim. Welcome to SS. Please submit classified ads to the Classified Ads section that can be found under the Resources Tab at the top of the site. Thanks.
RE: Re: cucv
5-ton? What 5-ton? Why would you assume that there is a 5-ton just because I bought a Cummins 250? LOL
All in good time, Kenny :D The 1008 is going to be my shop truck for an upcoming project.
Congratulations, I think :) You have a big project ahead of you, but man, it will be so worth it!
Here's a link to Kevin Kronlund's restoration of a M26 at his shop in Spooner, WI: http://www.armycarsusa.com/M26%20Pacific.htm
He would be a great resource for you.
I just sent a EUC appy via fax at 17:15 tonight with no problems. What fax error are you getting?
For my EUC from event 3373, I dealt with Sheila Rozum (srozum@govliquidation.com). She was VERY nice.
