    dump truck with fifth wheel?

Been driving around with that in the back of the car for far too long. Dutch farmers have an amazing viarity of equipment. The neighbor was, it think, actually disappointed that the truck guy beat him to taking the bed off, but he was a sport taking the fifth wheel out of my private car and...

    dump truck with fifth wheel?

Thinks are looking up, even though the weather is still lousy. We took off the dump bed today. I thought the 8 bolds at the back would be a problem. No Sir. 37 years after manifacturing, only one bold initially put up a bit of a fight but with a lot of WD 40 all of them came of easily. The 4...

    Wrong oil pressure gauge?

This oil gage is definitely not standard, bu it is defenitely something the US army did. Inscriptions are: MS 24540-2 MFR 09527 FARIA Corp Anybody recognizes where this gage is coming from? It reacts when the oil sensor cable is loose from the engine, it goes to 61 - 75 when the engine is...

    PTO description for dump truck

It seems, the PTO propeller shaft yoke runs directly into the PTO case. At the other end, it has a splined slip yoke. The other end of that yoke seems to run directly into the hydraulic pump. The only strange thing is that on the pump-side of the yoke, there is a normal bolt, but I suppose there...

Engine oil disaster, need some advise

That's the problem, these gaskets are too small. Looking at the right side of pciture one, there might be a very narrow groove completely at the outer edge of the of the base, and very narrow, looking at the right side of the first picture. As you can see, if you put the gasket completely and...

Which Technical Manual for crankcase oil drain?

How you know? rofl By the way, welcome. And yes, they make a @#$%@$@ mess, specially when still running. And before you ask: this happened yesterday

My Deuce, From Purchase to Present

Nice how that transmission is sitting out there looking at the truck. Wonder if I'll ever have the time and money to get my truck in that fashion, no time soon for sure.

    New gal from NY

I first thought you are joking, but it checked out, must be a bloody record. We definitely need more women on this site if this bunch so overreacts. Be glad though that they did not all answers with smart or funny remarks ;-).

Engine oil disaster, need some advise

Did some cleaning work (what a mess) and finally took off the oil filter houses. I would say they were the main problem. nopics But I have a problem downloading pictures, so that will come later. If you are carefull, you can just manage to cover the filter housing with the gasket, not a mm...

Yet another use for an M915A1 and M871 trailer!

Thanks for the explanation. Looking at the first pic, I could not see any special plates, looked like any old part of the wing. Hence the remark. Still great stuff though :D, and a swell job

Where to place the jack or supports?

The truck is standing in the Netherlands, was bought somewhere between 1997 and 2000 at a surpus auction from the Nato support depot in Ter Apel! Was registered to the 368 Batallion Engeneers, but I don't think they ever actively used it.

remove inner side shields or fenders

Sounds like I mean the vent panels, although I cold not find them under that name in the manuals. You probably have an M809 series truck. There, it is definitely possible. With the M39, I don't see how it can be done quick. I count well over 10 normal bolts linking it to the main fender and...

Engine oil disaster, need some advise

Thanks, this one was about 7 mm wide and only 1 mm thick (estimate)

Engine oil disaster, need some advise

Both old gaskets were off and the housing cleaned to remove remenants of the old gaskets. We actually thought about replacing the old ones, but one was split and the other actually now was too big to fit properly in the base. Top one same story, and whhen 20 liter oil goes out throug the top...

remove inner side shields or fenders

What's the proper name for those feder parts or side panels that are below the fender level and run from the chassis to the fender, with those airslits in it. protecting the engine compartment? Read somewhere and saw a video on a 800 series, that for easy access, you can quite easy remove...

Engine oil disaster, need some advise

Yep, its an LSD-465 A1. What is a " square section o-ring"? This one was a fraction thinner and smaller than the original one. If you put it in the base, you can move it around about a milimeter. I oiled it, put it as much centered as possible, put the house on it, pushed down, and then turned...

Where to place the jack or supports?

It needs the oil change because it did not have one for over 13 years and I start use it, trying to keep the thing alive and healthy. Once I have papers, I will start use it seriously. As to the farm, this is a nice romantic small dutch farm, the grass lands starts right behind the barn...

Where to place the jack or supports?

Problem is, the truck is standing on grass next to a farm in a little village. I am not allowed to drive the truck on road and there is no nice long land road where nobody comes to do it anyway. So I have to improvise

Engine oil disaster, need some advise

While idling a bit, the engine in a short time suddenly threw out almost all oil without me noticing it. Turned out the starter had been running as well all the time due to a stuck starter button, and I sprang an air leak. That’s the short version. Long version. We changed oil...
