Search threads throw up too much answers.
I want to safely raise all wheels of the ground to do some warming up of the drive train for oil change, do some repair and maintenance, check brakes etc.
Front is clear but what is the best place for a jack or support thing at the rear? Two railroad...
Great pics, could do with the stuff.
Seems to me though that those jacks are pushing at a very small piece of wing without any protection under it. Would not want that on my plane.
So there's still hope for me to pick something up from GL if I ever make it over to the US again with engouh money (which I never managed  ). Love to have an M-37 as my daily driver in the USA to join some parades next year (or just for the heck of it)
Big chance these previous guys just broke the old steering house and somehow lashed another into it. The mechanic is not bad, just don't see him as a type looking for old TMs to adjust things properly. For them, initially it earned its money, in later years it was just a utility thing standing...
We do?
Lots, especially if they have MVs and know their way around them
And welcome as well, it's a usefull site to know, and funny at times as well ;-).
If all goes to plan, tomorrow I finally can start work on my power steering problems. Thanks for all comments so far, I will take them with me.
Does anybody has a detailed blow-up from the insides of the components? The TM...35 manual has lousy pictures of everything, the other manuals only...
Mostly, the chassis number = registration number = VIN number is mentioned on the ID tags on the dashboard but also stamped into the chassis. We looked for the number on the chassis of my 1973 M51A2 but could not find it. Any idea where this is located?
It is important, if the DoT cannot find...
:idea: Good one. That's the way I will go then as well. Interrupt the supply at the starter already.
I will use a two-wire cable in my case though. The one wire will feed the key switch from the starter, the second wire will go back and reconnect the original master switch cable close to...
Any details on that PTO coupler you had in mind? I tried to google but did not find something usefull, more a lot fo forum and other talks too much to go through.
As gimpyrobb said, unhooking the pump (my initiall idea) seems a lot of work each time. Alternative might be an electric pump...
Thanks. I was worried it would be metal and the parts rusted together. Hope it comes off in one piece and can be re-used. Iff all goes as planned, the dump unit will get off on Monday.
There is a line of material about a cm thick between the main frame and the dump sub-frame. I thought it was metal, but today I took of a piece sticking out and found that it is wood?? It that normal?
Just spent a nice half hour under the truck, half sitting and laying, just looking. Quite relaxing .
The hydraulic pump actually sticks out under the main chassis, so I have to lift the dump bed much higher then expected. Disconnecting the controls is no problem. Slipping the spined...
I am replacing the old junk gladhands on my truck. Right rear side has the red emergency gladhand, rather rusty. On the left rear side, the line coming out of the chassis has been plugged, nothing left there.
Please tell me, which size and thread speed does the gladhand has, and the other line...
I always had a thing about trucks. Never liked small or super fast cars. Took my professional drivers license while studying and made some money to get some needed extra $$. Always kept thinking about it now and then, wouldn't it be nice to...
A good friend of me is now 75 and still three...
OK, back in the Netherlands and started to do something.
For the engine, I just bought a straight simple 15W-40.
Spent the whole tuesday driving and thinking 5-ton tricks and treats. After going crazy about all tranmission oil threads, especially about Dana - Spicer not liking GL5 oils, I...
or at least knows how to put in the right terms ;). I never would have tought to inlcude ignition as term.
But as another member already mentioned earlier, if everybody would use the search function to good effect, a lot less traffic and fun would go on at this forum..
ok ok ok, don't...
