GREAT deal on the Deuce, when you get her home, if you have any questions PM me and I'll give yu my contact info. I'm out in Buckeye, AZ. Are you going to have it hauled home, or are you living on the edge and going to attempt driving it? There's seveal posts in the archives dealing...

What brand, type, color, paint did you use on the muffler? And could you please post a close up picture of the mount/bracket, that secures the muffler itself.
You've inspired me. I ordered a 21470 muffler from NAPA today, they said the nearest one was in L.A. it should get it in 3-4 days...
A decade ago, I owned a M35 gasser. I installed a new M35A2 wiring harness, for the turn signals, and to ultilize more modern components like the alternator. It worked great until one night in the dark I accidently shorted something out BIG TIME, with a misdirected STEEL tool...DOH!
Looked like...

It was nice to meet you and you wife. I'm like a kid in a candy store when I go to Jack's, lots of cool stuff to kill my finances:-) I found a local guy who "may" have a useable Deuce fuel tank, if that turns out to be a false lead, I may have you see what you can find for me in CA...
I'll be there on Saturday, plan on bringing my Deuce if things work out. It'll be the first outing with her since I recovered from the chemo therapy. Looking forward to it.

That is my idea of the "perfect" Deuce. It has the mirror set up that I like and a winch. My Deuce had the west coast mirrors, they're ok for highway driving, but off-road when driving out in the desert with the windshield down they block a LOT of your view. My friend John, has those same...
I like the looks of the "soda blasters" they're so GREEN and we all know how important that is. (semi-sarcasim). But I'm still using a siphon blaster. (cause I'm cheap) But what I'm writing about is "water blasting"
Back in '90-'92 I used a 3500 PSI water presure sprayer, with a sand...

I don't know what year the change took place, David Doyle would have a better idea than me. But from my observation of M35 type vehicles the early gassers, had the "flippable" head light assys, low position for non-winch equipped trucks, high position for trucks w/winch. Many of these...

I was just looking at the pictures of your truck, and realized, that you need to "flip" over the headlight panels. On winch equipped trucks the headlights are supposed to be in the top position, yours are still in the lower (non-winch) position. It's a fairly easy swap, it will...

Just take a picture or two of the rear of the bed, from different angles, with the tailgate up. That should show the main differece. Also you could measure it, Deuce beds are 12' long, 5-tons are 14' long.
That's a pretty smoking deal for $400.00, congratulations.

It's hard to tell from that first picture, but I think she has a 5-ton bed on her. I'm guessing from the beds front reflector location on a raised panel, and it "looks" like the rear of the bed drops down, and goes straight across, as opposed to the deuces bed which angled up on each corner.
Very nice looking Deuce! Looks like a USMC truck, judging from the fact that the piece of round stock that's bent into an upsde down "U" on the bottom edge of the bed, between the duals, has the added on 1/2" thick angled steel reinforcements, on each side of the U piece. I've only seen these on...

My story is similiar to yours. I bought the green truck that was parked right next to yours from Mark, you can just see the bed in a couple of your pictures. I got a great deal and a GOOD truck from him.
I had a nice 1957 M35 gasser manufactred by Curtis Wright, I had it for several years...
Gentleman, I need a Deuce winch transported from I believe Lancaster (?) Ohio to Phoenix AZ, can anybody help me out, the freight companies are OUTRAGOUS!!
Thanks - Tom Kelly
