Ahhhh.... picked them up. Little mis-communication with the trucking/expediting companies delayed the pickup from last week.
Again lots of manual labor to move it into storage. Now I have the following Base-X resources:
3x Tan 305 (all complete)
1x Tan 303 (all complete)
2x Tan 103...
Here.
Not much use losing one's head, I was coming out of surgery for a dental abscess about 11 years back (popped a filling and it got infected before I could see a dentist, eek), and the doctor commented that I was the easiest patient he'd worked on in a long time. Apparently people don't...
That was probably me - it was memorable.
But I imagine that pales in comparison to seeing a trailer that looks just like yours going by you - probably as bad as seeing loads of sparks in your rearview mirror while you're hauling wooden pallets, then pulling over and realizing your trailer isn't...
LMC. I'll dig up the full order part numbers when I get home tonight.
We'll see how the floor pan rot goes, I will have to cut and weld to fix, and I'm finding other patches now that I'm cleaning more of the metal. It is what it is.
Looks like I'm also going to be changing jobs in the...
New fuel lines are on, and new high pressure hoses for the power steering and hydroboost are in. Truck starts completely differently now (sounds fierce and ready to fight!). Steering even feels a bit more responsive. I think I still have a leak to chase down though, the driver's side...
This is the best video I can find of the cowl vent actuators in the kick panel:

Operation should be obvious
Reel it in gentlemen... [thumbzup]

So far no re-occurence of the smokescreen, but it's going into the shop tomorrow morning to be certain - I've delayed the hydroboost work to make the fuel system my priority.
I've had that failure on a '71 Mercury Cougar on a bridge before. I used a paracord shoelace to temporarily reconnect the throttle cable to the pedal lever - this got me off the bridge (MacGyver would have been proud). I ended up using an aircraft cable to replace the original hardware - using...
Well it became more interesting after I left for work. I was headed to a friend's apartment to help him do more moving, and I noticed in my rear view mirror about a mile from my office that I was doing a good job mosquito fogging with the Blazer.
I pulled over and found myself sitting in a...
Speaking of low MPG... today after parking the M1009 in the rain while eating lunch, I came back to the smell of diesel and a rainbow sheen of runoff from under the engine compartment. Popped the hood and it looks like the injector return lines are wet with diesel. I'm not sure if I nudged...
Yeah, sometimes those links fail looking fine - bad fusible links can conduct for a continuity test but fail to carry an actual load. I've gotten in the habit of doing fusible link tests with a halogen light-bulb fixture - which is made from an old cigar lighter spotlight with a 130Watt H3...
Congrats - I found the first "shake down" packing for our camping/road-trip last spring was an eye opener for my wife on what you need versus what you want on a trip. Things need to be multi-use and packable - whole packs of new sponges need to be taken down to single sponges (leave the rest of...
If the key is on, the engine is not spinning, and the circuits are good - the light should be on.
Once the engine is up out of low idle right after a start, the alternator should be charging and the light should go out, and you should see 14.4V from the alternator ground to the alternator...
One more check you can do is to short the brown wire to the alternator's ground and see if the idiot light turns on when the key is on. If they don't, then your circuit is bad somewhere and you need to check again.
If the fuses/links are good, the bulbs and connections are good and the...
