Hi All, I have the glass and am getting new bottom channels soon for
the M54A2. I have a used good frame for the XM211.
After cleaning and painting the parts I need to know what type of seal
to get and where, or type of goop etc. along with any tips on how to do this
without screwing it up...
The primary purpose of this is to give some one local that is a member
of Steel Soldiers a shot at the job since we are all in hard times nowadays.
The job is a simple recovery and will most likely require a tilt back flat
tow truck.
I need to recover an old F250 from a mountain dirt road in...
What is the best way to replace the exhaust pipes?
Try to find NOS replacement?
Take it to a truck type exhaust shop and have them fabricate one?
I don't have a lot of money, but I want it to last a long time considering
it only gets minimum usage.
Right now there are holes in the bottom big...
I discovered that of the two frame extensions I have for my M54A2,
one of them is slightle bent and I would like to straighten it before
deploying it. Does any one have any tips on how to do this?
I figure I can probably find someone with a heavy duty press, but are
there any precautions, heat...
I can't get to my truck and I need a simple measurement.
This is for an M54A2. The one in my avatar. I need to know the distance
from the top of the rear window down to the floor of the cab.
I would really appreciate this.
Thanks,
Bruce
It turns out that the RTTY power connectors which appear to be
the same as the VIC-1 are not. The difference is that the RTTY
connectors have a longer shield and the connectors don't completely seat
although they look and feel like they do. It isn't until you notice that there is a
gap...
The PTO on my old Clark transmission was put on with some
kind of gasket sealer that is hard as nails. It seems almost like it is
welded on to the transmission.
Does anyone know of any kind of heavy duty solvent that is likely
to attack this stuff?
I tried using a chisel and hammer...
I just received a MX-7777/A from fair radio. This model is just the circuit breaker
plus the surge protector. There is no on/off switch or battle over ride. Which is
fine for me, but typically one does not use a circuit breaker for an on off switch.
However, since it wont be used all that...
Does anyone know the difference between the two types of connectors
that are used on most of the older electronic Gear. Typically found
on the RTTY riGs and the VIC-1 stuff.
For example take a look at a CX-10526/G and a CX-10527/G
They are both 4 socket connectors ABCD but one has a blue...
Look at the pic closely for green text to the left and right of the rear window near the top.
Is this going to be a reasonable location for the controller and two modules?
It seems to be the only locations that would be easily acessable by the driver and passenger.
I am thinking of mounting a...
I finally was able to uncover enough crud to finally ID the transmission.
It was previously ID'd by an SSer as a CCKW 5 speed, but this should
narrow things down further.
On the rear of the tranny is the following:
A_ 11-8-44
WARNER GEAR DIV.
MUNCIE, IND.
T93-1
Hopefully someone has...
Here is a link to my transmission ID question for pics of the transmission.

My question has to do with engaging the PTO. Not this is not a standard M211
hydromatic tranny. and...
I have been looking in the TMs for this but since I don't know what it is called
I am at a loss.
I changed the overflow tank today and I noticed a small valve and some small tubing
that was held on by the same bolt that secures the top of the resevoir.
I am assuming that it may be some kind of...
Ok, this is a little odd ball so read thru.
A friend bought a 3/4 ton trailer from gl
but is too far away for him to bother to
pick it up. His EUC just cleared but it is a
little more than 10 days ago. There is a possibility
that he can get them to release it even though
it is late.
If...
I need to verify if the following is reasonable
for using on my M108 hoist.
===============================
It looks to be 6x19 IWRC galvanized filler wire, with regular lay, 6 external bundles with 10 large strands and 9 filler strands. It came from GL and was sold as 1/2" cable. It is NOS...
I screwed up and put too much oil in my 6.2.
How much is too much? I am guessing I put in about a half quart too much.
Yes I did do a search but nothing came up.

I have 12.00 R20 Michelin XML Radials on 10 bolt rims on
my M54A2 and am running into seal problems due to the
condition of the rims. I would love to buy nice new rims or
fix the old ones, but that will have to wait until I have a lot more money.
It says on the tire that it can be used with...
What kind of milage are you getting on a heavily loaded
M54A2. I am trying to budget for multiple trips and it's
451 miles each way, so every penny counts.
Thanks guys/gals,
Bruce
Isn't there supposed to be a filter in the hydraulic recirculation path,
or am I thinking too much. If there is, where is it supposed to be?
I looked in the manual, but I didn't see any mention of one other than the strainer
in the tank.
