The data I posted was for the cores, not the complete radiators. Obviously the radiators are different, but Oshkosh also has different part numbers and NSN numbers for the cores themselves. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do that if the cores were identical.... But I really do hope I'm wrong. MK48...
I really wish the MK48 core would work in a HEMTT, but I don't think so. The cores have different NSN and part numbers, despite both being supplied to the government by Oshkosh. They definitely look similar, but there must be some subtle yet important distinction.
HEMTT...
I like the emphasis on SHORT... The ether start system on my HEMTT works excellent, and since Detroits tend to be cold blooded under about 40 degrees, I use it (at least until I get my block heater installed). But before the first time I did, I wanted to see how much it put in (it's a 2cc shot...
It shouldn't matter which manufacturer made the part... Like a multifuel engine, the parts are all interchangeable regardless if the engine was made by White, Hercules, or Continental.
You could double-check using the TMs. If you got the shaft from a M543 rear winch and want to use it in a M125...
I'm so glad the deuce was not the cause of the accident, but I agree, the owner is going to have some serious legal woes... Regardless of the fact the deuce was not at fault, he will almost certainly be sued and held accountable due to the fact the deuce was not registered or insured and thus...
Ok, that makes sense... I'd never tried or even thought about starting a vehicle with no battery using the slave port. So you plug a running truck with a battery into a dead truck with no battery to start it... Once it's started, you're saying you shut off the truck with the battery before...
I've never bought a plastic-handled fire extinguisher because I think of plastic as 'cheap' compared to metal and thought the plastic would degrade over time... Looks like my instincts were correct. But I have a lot of respect for a company that is recalling and replacing products that could be...
I'm pretty sure the truck in your pictures is a prototype, maybe pre-HEMTT or possibly a design that lost out to the eventual MTVR. Too bad it was never produced, that thing is awesome. Did it say what engine it had under the hood?
Sticky governor? I'd run some fuel additive, like a heavy dose - maybe a gallon or two - of 2-stroke oil. If it's a new pump, nice and tight, it probably doesn't appreciate the lack of lubricity in modern diesel fuel.

I chose a HEMTT because I was a little bit afraid of the MK48's articulation steering after reading about fatal accidents from unintended steering movements at speed. In hindsight, back in 2015 they were selling so cheap I regret not buying a MK48 or two... buying more HEMTTs too, but who could...
Sand printing would be awesome except that it's too expensive, and results in a casting that then needs to be machined. If you had a mill and machined it yourself (or just used a belt sander and drill press), it would probably still cost you around $500...
Just for entertainment, here's the NSN Report for the HEMTT A/C bracket.... Note that on 3/2016, Ruta Supply obtained qty. 1... That is the one I ordered from them. Where there's a will, there's a way. Though the average deuce owner might get sticker shock, to put it in perspective I think...
Have you guys tried contacting the original manufacturer? It looks like the government ordered them from both AM General and Colonial Sales Co. over the years. They paid $281.15 from AM General and $188.31 from Colonial Sales, in 1993. Getting these cast and machined from the original tooling...
Huh... I thought he meant 'work'. My wife probably deserves more credit for tolerating me than I give her if 'wife' wasn't the 4-letter W-word that sprang to mind.
You could get new tires, like Michelin XGC 14.00r24 (same tires the M911 uses).... The HEMTT only gets 3 mpg as well. In my case the overwhelming cost savings of driving it was simply too enormous to ignore. The lowest shipping quote I got to truck my HEMTT from LA to CA was almost $9000 and the...
Yeah, it would be a challenging trip, but why buy it if not to drive and enjoy it? The tires, speed, and sheer age are clearly the biggest hurdles... The over-width is solved by removing the outside rear tires (and now you've got 4 more spares). I know I'd go for it, but I'm obsessive with...
