Yeah, I like the idea of having both... The pull valve is cool, for tooting the horn for kids, but when some a55hole cuts me off, my hands are usually closer to the steering wheel button!
The 'C' in M35A2C means drop side bed. Both the M35A2 and M35A2C can have either the C (whistler) or D (non-whistler) turbo. The only way to tell which turbo is to look at it, or listen to it.

They look like the keys to my lawnmower...
The eBay item number I posted above has a higher security key and twice the amperage rating, but they're both Cole Hersee. Then I thought about it... There isn't much power going through the ignition switch on a HEMTT, and it's so easy to start a...
I was shocked when I saw that. I also was very surprised to see them make that recovery with no outriggers... If they're not needed for that move, why are they even there? The frame couldn't have appreciated that twisting sensation. The HEMTT manual says NOTHING is to be done until the...
I want to do a related horn mod on my HEMTT... It has both an electric horn and an air horn. The electric horn is actuated by the horn button on the steering wheel, and the air horn by a pull valve with the lanyard hanging above the door. Both horns were terrible. I replaced the wimpy air...
When I took mine apart to replace the filter, the original o-rings crumbled. I called the manufacturer (Pall Aeropower) and they gave me the spec for the o-rings plus the attached service instructions. It's a -229 o-ring plus back-up ring. If you need a set, PM me your address... I had to buy...
I'm pretty sure the trees were killed by bark beetles. The forest service removes the dead trees to reduce the fire risk. Bark beetles are more prone to attacking trees that are stressed, which most are due to the drought.

I've seen pictures of the truck you're looking at.... The seller is neighbors with a co-worker of mine. He showed it to me just yesterday, "dude, check this out, I found another military truck for your collection!" (As if my goal is to "collect them all")
Pretty pricey, but if that's the sort...
It's possible it's the same... Cole Hersee makes a lot of the store-branded items, like NAPA brand, but I personally wouldn't use one of the generic made-in-China switches. If you've taken one apart you know how crappy they are. Like, fire hazard crappy.

The original switch is a Cole Hersee brand. According to Matt (CastleBravo) the Cole Hersee 956-3122 or 956-3122-BX is a direct replacement, the only difference is that it is keyed. They're on eBay for $29 with free shipping, item 371426459352. I haven't done it to mine yet but it's on my...
I currently have Mondays and Tuesdays off, so last night and tonight are work days... I got home at 03:30, set the alarm for 07:00 to meet up with you guys. Alarm came on as scheduled, and with one slap I shut it off and was back to sleep. So not this time I guess! If I get bumped I'll come...
Yup... I just got the title and historic plates for my HEMTT. I did it all in one trip to Barstow DMV. Presented the SF-97, filled out forms, and they verified the VIN right there. No weight fees, no scale certificate, no commercial registration. The whole application did get kicked back a...
Since original tires are that rare, if it were my truck, I'd try to find the closest equivalent tire and either have custom wheels made, or modify the original wheels. Is the lug pattern unique? Will no other tires or wheels fit? I'd hate to alter the original wheels, but I'd definitely want...
Where, did the auction already get pulled? I looked at every vehicle for sale and didn't see any HEMTTs.
Oh, GL scrap... Mutilation required. Sad.
Hey Bjorn,
Looking for anything in particular? Do you have the parts manual? I've always had good luck Googling NSN numbers or using GL's NSN Report page, it's great. If you've never used it, it'll show you who originally made the parts, what they paid for them, when the gov. last ordered...
Is that for real? I've heard that before but assumed it was nonsense. How does it work? How fine a grind? Normal pepper particles would seem too big. My radiator has a very slow pinhole leak, it loses about 1/2 gallon a month. I don't see how pepper would plug that...
I haven't called around yet, but when I looked up the NSN for the core only, it shows that the government paid over $4000 per core a few years ago... That's more than the whole radiator. Hopefully you're right, it would be great if a multi-application core could fit the HEMTT tanks and side...
Other than the core itself, it can only leak at the top and bottom tank gaskets. The steel side pieces are just supports for the tanks and core and do not hold any water.
