    M35 radiator shock absorbing mount??

From one of the TMs I have been looking at it shows the bottom radiator support as having some sort of "spacer plate" before the two bolts go through the engine mount, then a washer, spring, washer, and nut. I have everything but the "spacer plate". Does anybody know exactly what this is made...

    alternator pulley removal?

How do you guys remove the pulley from the alternator? I see that it has 3 holes machined in the pulley. I tried using a pin spanner wrench in the holes with a breaker bar on the nut. The only result was a smashed hand when it slipped and some not so nice words being exchanged with my...

    air compressor pulley tool

I was searching some past posts and saw there was mention of a special tool for removing the 2 piece air compressor pulley. I think someone here was making the tool also. Does anybody have a link to someone who is making the tool or where I can get an original military tool? Thanks.

    nickel and dime

I picked up 3 new belts, and both radiator hoses today from NAPA to the toll of $112  Is this the norm or does anybody have a better source of belts and hoses for the M35. I couldn't believe how much that was and Sturdevants Auto Parts wasn't much better.

    350mi road trip to SD

Well i'm planning on using the towbar to flat tow a deuce with a deuce. I was going to load an M105 into the bed of each deuce also. Question is, should I remove the driveshafts on the towed vehicle to help with towing and to reduce the risk of damage to the drive train? I have heard a lot of...

    M35 oil pressure and idle

What do you guys usually idle your M35s at? Mine right now is about 550 to 600 and it shakes really bad. speed it up to about 700 and it is smooth. Tonight I had a friend of mine who works on hercules engines tell me that the tractors idle faster and I should increase it a bit for a smoother...

    M35A2 filters and fluids

I wanted to know what the verdict was in filters for the deuce. I am between WIX and Baldwin right now for fuel and oil filters. I have a much better buy on Wix right now, but does anybody swear one way or another that one is far better than the other one as far as filtration and fit. I...

    something wrong with search engine???

I have noticed lately that when I search for a topic say "engine oil" I have yielded very few results and most aren't related to the subject anyhow. I'm sure that there has to be several topics about what type of engine oil you guys are using in your deuces, but for some reason the search...

    fuel spraying from primary

I have fuel spraying from the stock primary fuel filter on the top. I recently took it apart and cleaned out about an inch of sludge. I couldn't believe how much crap was in there. I don't have a filter for it yet so I cleaned and reused the old one for temp sake, but after I screwed it back...

    middle axle locking up

Well when I drive my M211 and I use the brakes it locks up the middle axle and then it won't release them so I just end up dragging the tires. If I reverse they will turn for about a turn or so and then lock up the other way. I jacked up the axle and spun the wheels and they turn just fine...

New arrival at an already cramped shop

Here is my latest buy. It's a 1952 XM-211 w/w. I bought this truck from a guy along with a parts truck. He needed the room and I had an addiction to fill, lol. I now have 4 of this series truck(other 3 in pieces), a 62 M37B1, and 2 M105s. I also might have my first M35a2c and a water...

    m35 reo carb question

What type of carb is used on the early M35 Reo gassers? I have some carb rebuild kits that are marked REO on them, but some of the gaskets seem to match perfectly up to my M211 Holley carb. I'm wondering if they used the same or similar carbs or if someone just messed up labeling. Thanks.

    Brake booster grease?

While inspecting the brake booster off my M211 I discovered that the large chamber on the brake booster was full on red grease. It also had some sand or fine dirt in there. I am curious where the sand or debris came into the booster. Has anybody ever encountered grease in their brake...

MEP 15A 1.5 kw carb leaking

OK, here is the problem. The butterfly shaft that runs through the carb on my 1.5kw generator and connects to the engine speed governor on the side is leaking gas. From there a linkage runs down inside the generator. Gas is leaking out along that shaft and then trickling down the linkage into...
