So I have done a fair bit of searching and reading but have been unable to find any info on the repair or a suitable replacement for the soft top windshield channel.
Found quite a few threads on the repair of the plastic strip that slips into the channel.
The attached TM exploded view didn't...
Any of you west side folk have any leads on parts yards that may have 5 Ton front spring kits? I have a 5 ton that ready for them now. And I am heading to seattle tomorrow for a DR.s appt.
Or for those in the know, are there other trucks (Civi or comercial) that I might look to for similiar...
Hello,
1st thanx for a great site.
I went to the TM section and the descriptions are white lettering on a manilla background. Is it just my machine? Can you change either the background or the lettering so that they contrast and are readable?
Thanx.
Did I mention what a great job you guy...
I am a military jeep novice, I had a 84 CJ-7.
They say it is a 1948 Willy's Jeep with blown head gasket, doesn't run at this time. I am getting pix of the Data plate and the engine.
Peanut Gallery?
Any idea on what it is worth offering?
Thanx.
Does any one have a picture they can post of an unimog dash tachometer?
Is it the same size as the speedometer?
I have a hole in my TLF-8 dash, all the way to the right, above the hazzards knob, that has a delapidated rubber cover over it.
It is a round hole with a flat edge at the bottom.
I was...
:driver:Heads up and sorry for the short notice,:driver:
The Company I hired from uship has drug out my auction pickup from OKC for more than 2 weeks.
So I am heading that way.
I will have an empty car hauler (10K) trailer and pick up truck (long bed) going from Kennewick, WA down 84 to SLC...
Anyone have alternate contact info for the GL OKC warehouse?
All that is listed is the phone# 1-405-745-2614.
My freight company is having a tough time getting in contact.
Anyone have an alternate phone# or maybe an email address?
Thanx.
So today I replaced a leaky rear wheel brake cylinder.
In the process you have to remove the axle shaft.
All the new seals, bearing and cork went together pretty easily, just a little heavy.
But when I went to load the axle shaft back in, I am about 4-5 inches shy of getting a seal. I tried...
When I go from idling to just adding a little power, in the m813a1, there is a terrible noise coming from the front passenger side of the truck.
I think it is due to how the exhaust stack is mounted.
There is an angled plate coming from the frame and above it is an angled bracket that...

OK, I did some searching on the SS site and on the Web but not much definative info.
Does anyone have a source for 16-20 inner tubes?
They will go inside a 16-20 XLZ tire, because the tread has holes from where 3/8" rebar punctured the tire.
In this application does it matter whether the tubes...
So myself and ChevyCrew (Steve as I know him now) both won (??) GSA auctions for Rural Fire Dept. equipment in Northern Central Washington State. I got a mostly there M325A2 used as a fire tanker and Steve picked up what was supposed to be a M35A2
Rolling chassis. This happened in mid-December...
Got to run up to the Spokane WA area to get some 55 gal. steel drums.
And got to wondering.
Are there any Military related scrap yards in the Spokane area?
There is an AFB.
Just wondering.
Tony
I am looking at Mighty Mites now.
So I was wondering what the biggest guy you have seen driving a M442A1.
I understand that the 6.5 extra inches is in the bed section.
And the wheel wells are the limiting factor on how far the seat can go back.
Like when I tried to climb into a Toyota MR2...
SO on my recovery of the 5 ton from Ft Hill AFB I lost my radiator, when the fan's mounting pulley came loose and took a slow nose dive into the radiator.
So the radiator shop in Burley Idaho is said to be able to work on truck radiators.
So says the mechanic from the towing company.
Anyone...
Well, I had hopes of an easy recovery of a 5 ton from Ft. Hill AFB UT.
I lined up a company on U-ship (Freight Tec) that had what looked like good credentials.
They boasted picking up loads from Ft. Hill every week.
And said they could get the 5 ton picked up a in a couple days after the...
What is the frame rail width on the 813A1?
Is it the same as a m35a2?
I could not find anything in the TMs for the 813A1.
But I did find dimensions of the M35A2.
I might need to fab up a receiver hitch to pull my truck and trailer with if the trucking firm I hired doesn't come through in the...
I got an error reading 'Error: Unknown column 'country_id' in 'on clause' back' when I tried to access the classifieds section via the link in the left column.
Anyone else have this problem?
Tony
Would anyone be able to cross NSN 5310-00-995-1833?
It is the steering wheel nut on the m35a2.
The part is called for in the TMs but the only desc. is hexagonal nut.
But not the size it looks like a fine thread 7/8-14.
I will try one after I pick it up from True Value.
I found out last night...
