I have thought about it also, but I think i'll leave my M816s the way they are. I'm sure it can be done though by converting most of the wrecker body parts to hydraulic motors and getting rid of the PTO driven parts. Sounds like a challenge to me, lol.
I installed one for a customers truck that they were using as a bucket truck. Worked very well, but very expensive to install. We mounted the lever under the dash below the cold start switch. Definately will give you more winch holding power.
I love it. That thing is awesome. Wonder how many hours were spent on that rig. He will never get his money out of it, but I wish I had something to trade him for it, lol.
Probably was rebuilt around 2003 like the rest of the fleet at the TX RSMS shop. They basically rebuilt most of the truck and dynoed the engine. If it passed they reused it, if not, it was replaced.
Bad part is that the OEM are going to be nearly gone soon and the new star is all that will be left. I've used new star seals without any trouble. Keep in mind that most of the new star parts are made by KIA in south korea and they produce those parts for their military M35s, i'm sure their...
I agree, I won't part with mine for under that especially since they are fully serviced and equipped with all the BII. I sell M915s and they are more than you get them from GL, but they have been fully worked over, serviced, inspected, and come with a warrenty. Green Iron is still a bargain...
Sometimes they are freaked out by the "radium" gauges so rather than actually figure out the truck doesn't have them, they just take the entire cluster. I do have complete clusters also in case anybody needs them.
LOL, that is the most insane load i've ever seen!!!!! I've worked on windtowers and they use some larger rigs for the base sections, but that is something else. How would you like to have to cage all those brakes in an emergency, lol. I'm also guessing that is slightly more than the $2/mi i'm...
