77' Jeep M35A2 leaking hubs in the front.

The boots will keep the grease in but that looks more like a liquid=gear oil so yes you need to replace the oil seal in the housing. When the boots get cracked or torn you will usually see chunks of grease coming out.

    Spin on oil filter kit

There is very little mess since all the oil stays in the filters.

    Spin on oil filter kit

I still have a couple sets on hand from the last batch I ran for my deuces I could sell, not much for m35s coming in nowadays.

    Too Many Deuces?

My son said he counted 50 total but that was counting all the ones that are almost completely parted out but still might have the frame and a rear axle and part of a cab. There are about 10 more complete rolling ones that just don't run and need some injection pump attention.

    Too Many Deuces?

When I was selling a lot of Deuces the two biggest sales killers were "I need to get permission from my wife" or home owners association..to which I would reply "thanks for stopping"!

    Too Many Deuces?

I used to think there was no such thing as too many deuces but now I'm starting to wonder...This past weekend my son and a couple buddies fired up all the running deuces and took this pic (with my Humvee and 5 ton as bookends). And these are just the running ones 😳. I think I've become a hoarder!

Wreckers: Do people buy them for hobby or use?

I bought my M816 strictly to use on my own property. I buy and sell/part out deuces as a hobby and it is so much safer lifting heavy stuff with the wrecker than when I used to use my Bobcat. Pulling a multifuel with a skid loader while you're staring at the crank pulley was not a safe way to do...

    M35a2 6x6

In my opinion I would just replace the whole unit with an air shift case. Even a correctly working sprag case does not work as good as an air shift case.

    Starter-- click, click,.... Bang! {sizzle}

Is it possible the starter button is sticking on? Even if the red button comes back out maybe something inside is sticking.

MN registration advice for new owners

Ya I guess mine do start with Y but they are not the typical weight rated plates like I'm used to, they are like yours limited to 15,000 lbs.

MN registration advice for new owners

I had a similar experience the last deuce I registered. I used to register them with "Y" plates=truck plates and rate them at 26,000 or less if I wanted to save a bit on tab costs. However, the last time I was in at the same DMV I always use they said I needed a DOT # to use Y plates. I...

    New M35A2 Owner (MN)

Welcome to the site! Good to see another deuce owner in MN. If you need any parts let me know, I've got a handful of parts trucks at my place.

    Price check front axle shim/perch

I've got some perches on hand for $25.00 each plus the ride.

Wanting to slow down my M35A2

Yes all the trucks have the same gearing, are you using low range on the transfer case? The only other thing I can think of is going with a smaller tire to slow it down without riding the brake or clutch. By the way I think you are the first person wanting to "slow down" a deuce

    Weight of Deuce parts

I brought an air shift transfer case down to my shop today and threw it on the scale...465 lbs! It still had the parking brake assembly and drum on as well as the cross-member and gear oil. I knew they were heavy but wouldn't have guessed that much.

    M35A2 transfer case swap

I've got a good takeout for $350 with the necessary air lines and switch. Shipping it would be a little pricey though.

Any info on states issuing titles for hmmwvs?

So do you think if you brought documents from GP that showed a Humvee was sold as "off-road use only" they would insure it for on-road use?

Any info on states issuing titles for hmmwvs?

Good point, my question would be for those getting titles with "Off Road Only" on their SF97.
