I have on several times in the past installed 160 amp, 12 volt alternators on other 2.5 ton trucks, and have recently picked up a couple of 5 ton trucks and have been looking at installing the same type of setup for my 3500 lb crane that I recently installed on one of the M923a2.
I was debating...
On the fire wall there is a 15 amp circuit breaker/fuse - connected to horns air solenoid - check the voltage on both sides for proper operation andor replace the defective component.
Depending on the size of the hose, mine shot out over 8 to 10 inches, after I cleaned the in tank fuel pump screen at the bottom of the pickup nozel of the fuel pump-check for debri at the bottom of the tank that gets stuck on the screen then releases after the suction or pump is turned off and...
Try disconnecting the feed line befor the injector pump and install a clear plastic line to the output of the secondary filter output- empty fuel that comes out of secondary filters into container to assure proper flow from the fuel pump- just turn on power to system (engages fuel pump )- no...
The clearance of a M105 trailer has ample room to turn in eather direction- but on the retun trip from Knob Creek, Kentucky I had a flat tire, the trailer had to be detached to allow plenty of access and elbow room - other than that situtation normal untill I can afford a motorized the tire...
The only problem that I can forsee that most of us been through-

Just adding my 2 cents, have used Jeff Laumer several times, and is very knowledgeable and highly recommened - several area friends and members have used him - wouldn't buy a truck or my friends with out his approval ( Thats what he does for a living) fixes trucks at Sparta.
Word of advice, when doing the electrical double up on the low voltage wiring-

I received 3) 50 gallon containers from a friend, that was marked 18 years ago - home heating

Now it gets a little complicated from this point, but what I have is for example in my M109,
as the pictures show, is a Delco Remy 12 volt, 160 amp -single wire alternator, hooked
up to a 120 amp battery isolator all with a common ground.
I also installed a 3500 watt battery inverter - which...
It's not rocket science, some of my trucks have that same setup, simple and only
took a couple of hours to do. I guess it's like anything else in life- once you decided what you want - just make it happen. For me visualizing the concept, and then KISS ( keep it simple
structure). A...
Looking in all the right spots and found another nook for storage, I haven't seen anybody else with this design or installed concept on a 2 1/2 to truck before, this is what I came up with.
