So let me get this straight - you have a bobbed deuce and he has no truck of his own? I can't help. I have the G749 disease and gave up being cured. They are so Puurrrty!!! And once you find one they turn up more often. It's like they draw you to to he Force! Alan
Buy lots of small to medium bags. When you take something off, bag it and write what it is and where it came from in permanent marker.
Two weeks later if you don't you will be scratching your head as to what these bolts and nuts go to. Alan
I agree, when I first opened my brake master cover I started adding brake fluid but gave up as it apparently was going into the abyss. Better to tote them home.
If you go to this page and scroll down they list a thrust washer kit for all the Hydramatic transmissions from the 1950's. Now I don't know exactly whats in it but you could give them a call.

Okay, I got off my arse and found the box with the Fatsco kit in it. When I talked to them on the phone a year ago, I described what I had and they understood and sent the two kits. I had them add the metal and fiber plates to the shipment too as at one time I heard these wear out. The...
I found a kit from them on e-pay. This looks just like the kit I bought. It does not have the oil pump parts or the bands.

Hydramatic Automatic Transmission Rebuilding Kit
When I talked to the guys at Fatsco they sounded like the knew all about the parts for these transmissions.
Not shifting to 2nd sounds like weak oil pump or an obstruction. There is a debug section in that PS Mag in the stickies about these transmissions.
I was going to try and find the kit and take a picture. May find it still but right now lost in a pile of parts boxes.
The master kit cost about $450 and like I said it did not include the bands.

I found this very useful website that is in the UK but it lists paint colors for codes you enter. If you click on the color it will list all its alternatives in order of the closest match. So I put in 34079 which is a flat paint and clicked on the color and it came up with the closest match...
I have talked to these folks on the phone and they say they have any part we need.
I have not ordered anything from them yet.

I did order a master rebuild kit from these folks but it did not come with the bands, but they say they have them.

Yesterday I had to run by Home Depot to pick up some plywood and decided to by a gallon of Behr paint to try out on some parts I have. I want to do the 4 color MERDC and would like to use Forest Green FS 34079 as the base.
The guy at the paint counter had no problems following the...
I found a dusty 5 gals of IH Hy-Tran at a local farm supply store and got that. Have not got the truck moving yet so can't report on performance.
The dealer said that Case bought out International Harvester and it's now called Case/IH Hy-Tran.
Then he said there are more modern trans fluids...
