If you look around you can find some info on how to tweek the IP for more fuel. Really simple procedure. The 87 6.2 may be a good test mule. You can always put it back to where you started.
I have a GEP 6.5 that I will mess with when I have time. You read all the time about how these engines...
I used a CAT disconnect switch that a member posted about here. Installed it in the front of the battery box panel in the passenger footwell. I had already removed all of the slave jumper stuff and one of those cables worked perfectly. I switched the negative side.
Well since it came from a Blazer it may have had a 700 R4 tranny. If the TV cable bracket is still on the engine that's an easy $100. Sell the IP and anything else you won't use. You may come out with a spare engine for hardly anything.
When I get the correct bracket in I will compare them and post here what I find. I have heard, not seen, that the original Humvee bracket can be modified to work. From what I have read, the TV cable adjustment is a sort of do or die thing. It has to be right. I will do my own install when the...

Good job getting it going. I fool around with old tractors and know of many, many that are running after someone drained the water and got them free. Watch your fluids and cross your fingers.
The stick on pan heaters can be had at any of the places that sell tractor parts. Very common to use these on tractors.
IF you find yourself with low batteries lets be honest. There ain't gonna be another Humvee that will pull up to help. Then you need the stupid expensive slave cable. So the...
New project...1972 Dodge Crew Cab
This was advertised as military but I can't find anything on it to verify that. The faded green paint may be OD but the truck was originally painted white. I am going to clean it some today but it looks like it has Dana 60's front and rear. The front bumper and...
Disconnect the pump from wherever it's mounted, connect a hose to the suction and run a hose down thru the filler spout, temporary power and should be good to go.
