Thanks for the help fella's. In response to CSM Davis-I can see how this particular joint would get skipped. The close coupling of this joint and failure looks like it would damage the stuff around it.
Again, thanks.
Pete
Trying to find a way to grease this U-Joint but have not been able to find the "sweet spot". I can't get my grease gun head to fit in between the knuckles to grease this joint. Have gone in from the top (spare removed) and from the bottom. Is there a position 9 oclock, 6 oclock or whatever that...
Its not a good idea to drive a one of these trucks "fast". An A2 has simple lap belts and stiff suspension. Going over a set of railroad tracks can be a real exciting deal if you hit them slightly off perpendicualr. The rear end will do things that are un expected. Couple that with a very large...
I have had a Duece and A3 at the same time. Both nice trucks-I found I drove the A3 much more than the Duece. A3 is easier to drive-automatic and assist steering. Its quieter too. Sold the Duece-am spending more time with the A3. Have been working it too.

Hey, thanks for posting. Pretty cool. The truck has been great and is slowing being brought back to good as new.
I also have an MK48 that had a considerable amount of sand in the cab.
Pete
High price for a rather rough A3. It did have a high serial number though.
Probably bonus time for bidders on stuff that is easier to buy and tougher to sell.
Its in th TM9-2320-386-24-1-2 -page number 0298 00-4. Mine idles at 500 RPM-have had two others also idled at 500 or so. Looks like its time to make an adjustment.

I have gotten three A3's out of Sparta. Two where great-barely any issue. CTIS-forget about it. One was a "towed onto lot-no fluids" truck. Had blown head gasket and missing drive shaft-outside of that, she was a low mile clean truck (small area of rust). Issues-check valve on top of fuel...
OK-have installed main electrical cut offs on my A3 and past Duece. Just installed in the ground curcuit from battery to buss bar.
Now trying to do it on the 5-ton and am baffled. After taking off several battery cables and hitting the start-this gal starts right up. I have a schematic that...
The MK trailer has several pop up hook devices. The picture shows with them in the down position and no straps. However, small fixtures can be made to use the pop up to secure the corner rings on the shelter. I do believe these shelters are the best way to go for camper projects. They are easily...
I have a similar unit from Craig Systems. Mine is perfect inside-smooth aluminum. She fits perfect in the back of my long A3. Due to bed length, I end up with a porch in the back. Bought some Dometic windows for mine and have layed out the interior but have not begun the build yet. Thinking this...
I suspect its a modulator issue that makes these shift hard. I have limited my driving of mine due to hard shift. I did have it out this past weekend and found it to be relatively smooth when transmission is very cold. As she warms, she gets harsh. I plan on bring mine across town to an Allison...
Looks nice. I too have one of these trucks. Mine is big and buff colored showing 2100 miles. Its clean and dry and looks like this may be actually how many miles she has.
Yours looks new as new too.
