    106 RR progress

Clinto, Congrats on the mule! I had mine out for the Memorial Day parade and it was appreciated by many 'Nam vets. I was able to muscle the 2 halves of the 106 out of the truck, into the shop and onto the stands myself. To mount the completed unit on the mule it will require soldier A,B, and...

    106 RR progress

I have been busy in the shop stripping the mule down and working on the 106 recoilless rifle restoration. Lots of cleaning up on all fronts. I cleaned up the barrel and found a piece of scedule 80 4" steel pipe to sleeve and join the halves together with. The cuts in the breech and muzzle are...

Kennett Square Pa Memorial day Parade

David, The 50 is only used for ceremonial duty on the back of the mule. I would never attempt to fire it on the mule. The 50 mount will probably be removed from my fun mule as the other mule will become the 106mm RR hauler.

Kennett Square Pa Memorial day Parade

The parade had a great turn out of green iron from the local pa club. The Marines had their flashy H3 there for all to see. I had my mule there with Ma Deuce on board. Enjoy the pictures!

jb weld and the 106mm rr

Following up on the pictures of the T&E torch cuts and and their repair I decided to give JB weld a try. I bought the stick variety you mix with your fingers to acticate till it changes color. I thought this would be a safe solution for closing up the holes around the gears rather than mig...

installing cargo tie-downs inside deuce bed

I used the military tie downs to secure the extra 105 trailer inside the bed with a ratchet strap for my trip from Fort Dix to Delaware. Once I got home I used 2 come alongs hooked to the tie downs and lowered the trailer down on ramps to the ground with no problems. They also secure my mule...

installing cargo tie-downs inside deuce bed

installing cargo tie-downs inside deuce bed

I installed them on my deuce and used a hole saw to make a nice clean hole. Set up a template for the 1/4" pilot bit then go back and cut the holes. I do not remember the hole saw size I used but i think it was around 3.5 -4" in diameter. Be careful when handling the drill with the large...
