All,
Here is some research that I have found as I install MWO 9-2320-200-35-1. It's the MWO that covers seatbelts. It applies to EVERY M44A1/A2 2.5 ton truck, and M39/M800 series 5 ton trucks. The parts kit you'll need is NSN 2540-01-245-2444. (good luck trying to find one though)
If...
All,
Im trying to find a seatbelt so I can install a 3rd seatbelt on the passenger seat of my deuce... New preferred, but used OK.. Will pay for part and shipping.
All,
Im looking for a part out of a winch PTO WND-7-28 from a M35A2.. I need the long shaft that slides arround inside the PTO that has the 2 rubber boots on either end. Mine is scored, does anyone have one thats in used, good shape? Memphis wants crazy money for the shaft....
I also need...
This was on display at Ft Hood at the 1CD museam..
A wrecker/cargo hybrid????? I couldnt check the dataplate, it was locked up. The info said it was a M88A1, which is incorrect...
Some pics from todays visit to Ft Hood TX.
Some cool, some very sombering....
Just about everything down here is FMTV, I only saw a handful of 900 series 5 tons, and they were all expando vans.. Not a M35 or M800 series in sight, except for at the meuseam..
The convoy pic was a bunch of...
All,
Im trying to find a NSN or NAPA type part # for the M35A2 winch. The seal that goes arround the input shaft (the shaft that is driven by the driveshaft)
The seal I have says VICTOR 63079 and PATENT 2319067.
I cant find anything that Xref's to CR or FM part #'s.....
All,
Is there any way to "date" a deuce winch once it has been taken off the truck it was manufactured with? I know Garwood originally manufactured the winches, but I see alot of TMC ones also stamped on the dataplate... Any ideas out there?
All,
Im looking for the "PTO" cover that goes on the side of the M35A2 tranny.. If you DONT have the PTO for the winch, there is a flat metal cover. If you do have a PTO, there is no flat cover..
Anyone got the cover? Condition doesnt matter, as long as it works..
Thanks!
All,
Is it possible to remove JUST THE WINCH from a M35A2 by disconnecting the winch drive shaft, and the 6 bolts on ether side and thats all? My buddy doesnt care about the frame extensions, etc.. Just to swap a bad winch unit with a good one. A forklift is availible to lift it out.... The...
All,
On my deuce, it has the manifold flame heater. I just got in an ether start kit, complete..
I really dont plan on using my deuce when it's that cold out, so its basically just for looks.. Keep the flame heater, or remove it and add the ether start kit???
All,
I had to remove the intake and exhuast manifolds today to drill out a faulty and DAM WELL stuck temp sensor. Other that follow the TM, are there any tips/hints/tricks to installing the whole mess back? I got new gaskets coming. Hopefully assembly will go as well as disassembly....
All,
I've checked the TM and LO, but I cant find a good answer on which fill plug the box should be filled to. #5 or #10. #5 is the bigger of the 2 fill plugs wich is the same size as the drain plug.
Any thoughts?
All,
Just want to check my exhuast smoke...
At warmed up idle of 900 RPM, the exhaust is barely visible. When I hit the pedal, it turned black as the RPMs went up, but then changed back to barely visible at the new higher RPM...
Should I be concerned about the black smoke or is everything...
Just got back from the warehouse.. I let the deuce run at idle for 1 hour to get the oil and sludge moving. Then drained the oil, then removed filters. Oil wasnt burnt, no smell of fuel, no metal fragments, so I think Im OK. It's still draining, then I'll put filters on, and oil in...
All,
There was a GREAT thread/Tech Article on exactly how to teardown/rebuild the front axle on a deuce. Had lots of pics, details, ect... I cant seem to find it...... Anyone know what Im talking about?
All,
I know that "seperating" the front rear and rear rear axles is a good thing, since I dont plan on going off road with my Deuce. Question is exactly how.. Cut down axle shafts, or unbolting the "drive shaft" that connects the 2 axles. My front air shift works great, so I have little...
All,
I plan on redoing my bearings/seals/brakes on the rear axles this weekend. Is it a good idea to use some RTV on the cork piece to keep it in place and help keep the leaks under control?
