I was involved in this accident but was not the driver of either vehicle. This is what an M151A2 looks like after being run over by an M3 Bradley.:-( No one was killed in this accident believe it or not, and the jeep had 4 people in it, 2 escaped unscathed and 2 were medevac'd but without life...
Saw this truck in Branson Missouri this week, it sits right on the stip about the middle of town.It is part of a sign for a bar and if you weren't lookin you could miss it easy enough as the bushes around it have grown pretty high.It is a 1953 and looks like it served with civil defense and the...
I am pickin up my new M151a2 later today, should be an easy recovery.I will post a couple of pics later today, pretty jazzed about this Mutt, I have been tryin to get the owner to sell to me for the last 8 years, last week he finally relented and said come and pick her up.
She has been resting...
Wondering what some of you guys here run in your Mutts, back when I drove them in the 80's we used 10w30, and I know the Army switched to 15w40 in everything in the 90's, any suggestions for best engine oil? Thanks
While on vacation last week I saw these two half tracks at the museum at Ft. Lewis Washington, the museum has been undergoing restoration for quite some time and is only open one day a week right now so I was unable to tour the inside. Most of their outside displays are fairly common vehicles but...
Got the mule out today, fired right up after a little choke and 6 pulls.Doin a static display at Ft. Chaffee tomorrow at the old barber shop museum. This is where Elvis was inducted and got his first hair cut. They are actually gonna have the dude who cut Elvis's hair there doin cuts for 2 bucks a...
Anyone else running 37's on the old style 8 bolt hummer wheels? I only plan on using this one for a full size spare for my 1008 but then I got to thinkin about puttin a set on my 101A1 to match my truck.I have a few extra 37's but the only wheels I have available are the old style.I ditched the...
I was looking at a truck today that I am thinkin about buying and was surprised to see the delivery date on the dataplate of 1-65.I didn't know they were makin them that late, looks like an ex-USMC truck as it has paperclips on the front bumper, showin 4995 on the odo, wonder if that is...
I picked up this little jewel at Hooks yesterday, looks pretty clean and the trailer came with it.Turn in tag says running condition, oil drained.Topped it off with oil this evening before dark and turned it over a couple of times, I will add some fuel tomorrow and attempt to fire it up.
Pretty decent trailer overall, 1966 Johnson Furnace. No rust in the bottom as it has been full of greasy automotive parts for the last 10 years or so.I plugged in the light cable and the lights still work, couldn't even feel it behind the 1008.
I passed through Tupelo Mississippi last week and my daughter in law wanted to check out the Elvis boyhood home there.I found this picture there from when they moved the church he attended as a young man to it's present site beside his childhood home.It looks like a 10 ton tractor to me, the...
My friend picked up 3 brand new M102 howitzer wheels with new tires, I understand these have a double bead, probably for the weight of the gun.Any problem with runnin these on an M151a2? I ask this because a friend of his told him you couldn't, I can't imagine why it would be a problem.
Picked up this M116 genny trailer to haul the mule on and it works great, when coming up the ramps you have to climb over either the left or right fender(your choice) but it works out pretty well.I got this generator trailer cover at my club's annual rally this year, I believe it is for the next...
I sure do love local Volunteer Fire Dept's, picked up this cover today and the price was right.Just missed the bows and troop seats, they got tired of them laying around and scrapped them:sad:
Please excuse the rust-o-flage, paint is next on my to do list
I am gettin the 1008 ready for my club's anual rally so I decided to go with a top this year.I am pretty sure this top is really for an 880 but looks like it will be a go, sure is tight but it has been folded up in a barn for years, I got it from a neighbor who was in the guard back in the...
Picked this one up today from fellow member flyxpl, halfway done now I just got to drive home. This will be my new mule hauler, had to drive all the way to illinois to find one priced right:grin:
