When I bought my 86 M1008, it had a Vintage Air full electronic AC system in non working condition. Long story short I got it fixed last year and now I'm spoiled lol
Btw, swap out the old harmonic balancer asap. Those are a known weak spot on the engine. The balancer may look okay, but the rubber is hardened and dry. Those old balancer can fly apart real quick... and when that happens your 6.2 diesel is toast
Rule #1 avoid Autozone. They sell crappy parts.
Just tell them it's for an 84 K5 Blazer. If your starter or alternators crap out on you, have them rebuilt.
I'm looking at putting a 6.5 turbo in my 86 M1008. If I go that route I'll keep the DB4 electronic pump and relocate the PMD out from underneath the intake manifold
I had similar situation with my 86 M1008 when it got down to zero. Took 5 min to get it started. And when it warmed up it was a slug. I had also changed the fuel filter a few weeks prior to the artic blast we got. After that cold front moved out I put on another new fuel filter. The truck came...
The factory fuel filter base on my 85 M1008 started leaking and at the time I didn't know they could be rebuilt. So it was replaced with a duramax set up. The d'max set up works just fine, but the the truck doesn't start as fast vs the factory set up.
