Another update on the 820.
Fixed fuel leaks, adjusted valves and injectors, installed e code lights and 130w bulbs. Sounds easy but was a ton of work.

I just went though this procedure and thought I should post my $.02 and the process I used with very good results.
1. Forget the procedure in the 34 TM. Seriously.
2. Read Will's post #8 here.
3. Read Will's post #8 here again. Understand it.
4. Line up VS 1-6, VS 2-5 or VS 3-4. Doesn't...

Big thanks to rwbrown71, setoyota and willwagner!
Just for future reference, I followed this post to get the valves and injectors set right. Specifically, followed what willwagner posted and relayed via a phone call. Will, you are the man!

I'm lost. According to Will above, A or 1-6 VS you should adjust cylinder #1 injector then valves? *The 34 has me adjusting injector #3 and valves on #5?
It was between 3 and 4 per loaded mile. I would file anyone quoting much under that in the "too good to be true" category. You pay a little more to deal with a professional company and get professional service. Like anything else, you get what you pay for.
Bump for pic update from TM and SirB. I'd like to see or hear about your floor plan. I'm thinking about trying to make one side NOT expand. Remove the roof and floor pieces and seal it up good. Would make it a lot easier to put all of the mechanical systems on that side AND let some light...
More than likely it went right by the rings and into the oil. I'm about 99% sure this is what happened since there were an extra 5 gallons of something in the oil when I drained it. It was about as thin as water and smelled exactly like diesel. The poor thing was leaking "oil" from every seal...
Fuel leak fixed. Batteries charged. 38 outside and she fired up and ran for about 10 minutes. The engine miss is GONE for sure. Smoke is about 75% less but I still have the top end to get dialed in. Picked up a brand new Craftsman torque wrench Saturday just for the valve/injector...
After fixing the fuel leak that I caused, that is the next thing on the list.
Wolf, I think my fuel-in-oil problem is from the cylinder that had both intake and exhaust valves disconnected/not moving. Imagine that injector firing with no intake or exhaust. It is a miracle that something...
Figured out one of the problems. Some knuckle head didn't have the push rods seated under the intake and exhaust rocker arms. They were moving up an down from the cam follower - just not opening any valves. I don't want to even think about all that fuel going in there with no way to get out...
