I suppose you are right...... these California regulations are terrible. I can't actually think of a reason to drive it other than to have the cab painted. I guess I can get the RV box done and registration prior to cab paint.

Let me know what happens at the DMV. I plan to be on the same path soon, I just planned to drive it when I needed to without reg. I guess it is a risk, but any driving will happen when it is still camo, I have yet to see a camo military vehicle on the side of the road with a tax collector behind...
