You can not have enough tools. You will need a small chain hoist to get the spare down. One heck of a breaker bar, or large impact gun. You need cribbing blocks.(4x4's cut 3' to 4' work good) A multi meter, large sockets and wrenches, extensions, zip ties, duck tape , and more duck tape, etc...
Check the lug nuts as well. I've recovered 9 m1102's, four of them had loose lug nuts. Two of them had little to no grease. They all were almost new. Also don't forget the magnetic temp. brake lights will not stick!:)
Oh and the safety chains will be too short without an extension.
Oh, and I think if you just change out the check valves and update your air dryer. (And possibly the PPV) All your air problems should be good. It's not a bad system when it's maintained.
Safe travels!
I lost a wheel on a new trailer once with a boat I just sold going down I95 at about 60. Thanks God I was in a F450 or I would have been in the ditch! :0
I got mine off ebay.($15.00) The NSN 5315013527448
So far it's the only one I could find. I will take it to tractor supply and see if I can find a match.
Thanks Soni.
Ya I just want to replace the whole can. It's not worth the hassle to cage the brake and change out the parts. To much risk. It is a good reminder though how dangerous it is.
By the way you have some very nice toys!:)
Moving the trailer.
I had every part in the storage box but a tow pin. Today I was going to put the trailer away. I tried my best to back the trailer up without it. There is no way! I have to back up in a confined space. I try to use an old tow hitch pin. The trailer laughed at it! It broke that...
Awesome.
If you have a mutimeter, you could check the voltage at one of the truck batteries and make sure it's not over 14 volts (truck running). Then maybe you can make a quick battery charger from a cigarette lighter connection and wire it to one of the truck batteries. Just for emergencies...
Well I made it home! 810 mile round trip in 21hrs. I averaged 7.6mpg empty and 7.0 withe the trailer.
Trailer pull nice up until the end. It started raining and I guess the lack of traction, caused the tire to wonder. It was shaking its tale good. Only did it when it was wet. Dry pavement there...
Well I'm on my way back to FLA. Trailer pulls super easy. Two tires are not as good as I would like (dry). Needs some paint and decking. Not to bad for $770.
Truck is running good. Rear hub and diff are running hotter then the rest. 125* hub and 160*diff. Air temp 86*
Now for some lunch of...
