I toted one of those for a few years and I can't see humping one around for fun! Now a vehicle mounted one, that's a whole different kind'a fun unless you're in the front seats eating hot brass.
I know of a few trucks that were running around in Iraq with home made gun mounts, home made...
Whew! Nice ride ya'll have!
Nice protection for those who protect and defend. :goodjob:
We have one that hit an IED or I should say and IED hit it. You lose the running gear but the passengers were as snug as a bug in a rug.
A little more forgiving than a 113 APC which another local Police...
Thanks! That means alot because I've seen your sharp truck.
It was a remove, repair, reinstall and cut, beat and weld rebuild. VERY tight budget! I was just lucky to have been trained by Uncle Sam to do all the work on it.
But the race isn't over yet!
Red desert MERCD would look sick on a bike but you would have to go all out on the paint. The whole bike would need paint from handlebars to seat to forks to engine to rims. Everything. I'd do crisp taped edges not sprayed/faded edges.
A good reference site=...
Been tracking down an overheat issue.
New water pump, old one's seals failed.
New thermostat.
Flushed and cleaned the cooling system a dozen times.
Last issue I thought might be causing the high rpm overheat was slightly loose belts. Nope.
Head torque good. Head gasket good.
What's this----...
The M151A2 is a 1972 mfg by AM General. You can tell the HMMWV is based on what AMG learned with the MUTT.
This one was uncut and had been setting out for around 15+ years before I got it. If it could rot it did! Been working on it since fall last year and just recently started shake down runs...
I JUST figured out what the B.S. road trip was!
I thought it stood for "Bull S**t road trip" but I found Andy3's post! Boy Scouts!
Never claimed I was the brightest bulb in the box.
Welcome to the green nut house!
Sunny, I'm Whiterabbit over on the GNR site.
Hurry up and fix that darn thing before the Oct. Georgia Rally, I'm tired of being the only 109 EXMOD in this bunch!!
I guess I'll throw my wife's lil' 1972 M151A2 into the mix just to make sure the MUTTS are represented. It is an ex 2nd SFG truck according to the reg#. It sat for 15+ yrs. out in the weather slowly getting closer and closer to the scrap yard. All work was done by me over the last 6 or 7...
The little black control box say 4004-12-24 and the 6"x6" solar panel says 12-24v.
Put a multimeter on it, 150-190VDC in direct sunlight. It must be an early one, no led light and the solar panel backing is a kind'a clear material. It does squeal which I read is normal.
Ok, more searching on...
Doable? Found one in the garage and wondered if I could wire it up on a 12Volt truck.
Thanks!
Crap! Found a box full of the big 1'x2' ones! Guess I'll be asking some solar panel questions this year!
I call my ExMOD Land Rover 109 "Antichrist"
"If you have to ask why "Antichrist" then you are too young to know why" :shrugs:
