I read somewhere that the aftermarket coils are often just a bit too short, so they don't make good contact to conduct the heat away. One fix some people use with some success is to put a metal disc in the bottom to help take up the space (the recommendations I saw were to coat the disk in some...
My passenger seat has a pin near each front corner that seats into a hole to hold the seat bottom from sliding around. I can't remember whether it's the frame with the pins and the seat with the holes, or the other way around. If you need a picture, I can snap one and post it.
Vintage Power Wagons sells a locking door handle that will fit an M37 (VPW refers to the M37 as a "type E" vehicle in their catalog).
The link is to the "Group18: Body" section of their online catalog. Scroll down a few pages (to the page numbered 85), and look near the upper right of that page...
I just turned off my ad blocker for this site. That way, I don't get the pop-up. I just ignore the adds - not that big a deal to scroll right past them.
Lubricants have changed dramatically (improved) since the tech manuals came out. There seems to be a debate between the originaly recommended lubes and more modern ones. I have 10W-30 non-synthetic in my engine and an 80 or 90 weight gear oil in the transmission, be cause that is what was in it...
As someone living in a rural area with a slow internet connection, I sometimes dread the threads with multiple hi-rez photos - especialy when the kids are home using up most of our bandwidth. If I can, I make do with viewing the thumbnail photos.

I'm looking to add a 2" receiver hitch on my 1951 M37. I want to keep the stock pintle hitch. I've seen a few pictures of people who fabricated a receiver set up. I'm thinking of mounting a stock aftermarket receiver hitch sold for modern trucks. It seems the frame rail spacing is the same as...
It certainly is. They could get away with that back when these were made. I'm not sure how they got away with it when they Made the Coot2, a more recently made successor to the original Coot.
After clicking on your user name in the top right, you should see the following.
Click on "Preferences" and part of the resulting page will look like this:

"M10 Trailers" (including quotes) will only find it if those two terms appear together and in that order. It would not find a post which read: My M10 is the best trailer.
The board where plain M10 would not have worked, but "M10" did work was basically using the quotes to say: I know this is...
Thanks. I'm new here, so didn't know if it was working before or not.
Your response reminded me: For one board I was on long ago there was a way to override the minimum character setting by putting the term in quotes "M37" the search ignored the quotes, but would force a search on the...
An issue with the search function: It's ignoring some fairly important search terms. For example, if I search for "M37 brakes" I get a message at the top of the search return:
"The following words were not included in your search because they are too short, too long, or too common: m37"
I...
There are some good options for the electrical part of towing a 12V trailer behind your 24V tow vehicle.
For the trailer lights, member @mikew makes 24V to 12V trailer light converter cables that will run your 12 V trailer lights off the 24v trailer connector on your vehicle. He also sells a...
