So if I mount the spare tire carrier over the mudflap hanger as it shows in all the images, I assume I use washers on the other side, there’s a small gap between bumper and tire carrier base?
Thanks guys.
Looking at putting the thicker glass windshields in my truck.
There was a set for sale of the 5/8 or 3/4” glass with the thicker retainers. Before I bought, he offered to test fit them in a 998. They do not fit into the lower built in retainer for the bottom of the glass. And up top there’s a...
What if you want to go the other way?
mount the ballistic 3/4” glass in a regular window frame? What needs to be changed for the bottom? The top and centre are obvious.
Thanks!
Could someone show me all the mounting points for the triangular cargo shell nets. I see on the sponson there are two spots for loops, but these are the only two I can figure out.
Thanks in advance.
I have the baseplate for interior. I likely won’t get middle racks, as it takes what usefulness the truck has away. Lol
I am tracking down a deactivated M2 for the top tho. Hah
I have wanted a hmmwv for decades. Started with wanting an H1 as mil ones were not an available, but as a young man at that time I could not afford it. Haha.
Fast forward to last year. I found my preferred colour, in a military rebuilt truck, an hour from my house, Already licensed in Canada.
It...
I chamfered the edges, but not a lot. Not sure if that could be it too. Any help getting a visual or link on these backers would be great, I am currently searching.
Also looking at the yokes mounted to the diff, they don’t seem grooved or anything to cause this amount of slop. And I foresee trouble getting the bolts out of the aluminum housing. Lol
Everything is OEM from HPG
Hey guys,
I know I’ve lots of questions recently. Appreciate all the input,
I just finished building my 998 to a desert storm era slant back,
After driving it for about 20 mins I get a clicking in the front. I am a certified diesel tech of 20 years so I start diagnosing immediately.
It sounds...
I understand what you mean. I guess the heads are based on GM so metric would be right, especially as it’s a 2006 GEP
Does anyone know the exact bolt size and length? I’ll see if I have space but at a bare minimum I’d go to 12.9.
We are talking the bolts going into the cylinder head right? I assume you need an Imp bolt for the head. Mine is fine at the moment but worth upfitting if possible,
Just a thought, is there a modern bolt that could replace the bolts that commonly break? Like a stronger grade 12 or something? Or is it that they loosen without someone’s knowledge prior to breaking?
Just looking to see if there’s a preventative measure.
Those park brake handles have no lock other than being “over centre” so if you bump it, it releases, violently. So that pice of tube makes it so it cannot release. You just lift it to release and slide back down after. It doesn’t lock like for security, just avoids accidental release.
Does anyone have a link to a good pictorial to installing and sealing an OG hard top, and turret.
I have the parts manual, but just looking for a bit more info on where the gasket goes. Where to silicone.
thanks guys
You’re new idler, it has standoffs built into it, and you use the existing ones on the frame right?
yeah it’ll get the big stuff eventually but can’t disassemble and put the old stuff back on again. And can’t leave it at work.
milk update this weekend. I think the bar is bad.
