I am going to use my new M127 trailer as for parts storage until I can get my shop built. Has anyone used a military box trailer for storage? Should it be a level as possible or should there be a tilt one way or the other to help with drainage off the top of the trailer? I don't think having...
I have new fuel lines in the works for the 818, I just run out of time each week, I am going to have to move it up on the priority list. It is a super truck and drives well, but this truck has been a challenge from the beginning, the oil photo is from picking it up at Hooks, took four visits to...
My 818 accelerates fine meaning it is pretty responsive, however whenever I let off the accelerator there is a lag with the engine responding, not long but noticeable, the power falls off but not as quickly as I would think it would, not like any of my mulitfuel engines, is this normal for this...
The 817s are located at the National Guard yard a few miles from Hooks, If you run one over to the Hooks location they may piggyback them for you? If either one of you decide it is too much of a hassle let me know, I missed out on the sale due to sniping so I need one, and I have an 818 ready...
If anyone got one too many of the 871s at Hooks, I would be interested in buying it, since the four I was bidding on to get maybe one were sniped in the last few minutes. pushing them past the auction end, and driving the price out of my reach!!!!!.

Beware of Snipers
I am in the same boat on the bolster trailers that were in Little Rock, I paid double what they went for in Hooks. I expect to be sniped in the last 15 minutes this time!

This is one of the four they sold in Little Rock a month or so ago. He has received the last of the Deuces that were in Arkansas, he does have some 5 tons coming up, they have been on the lot for at least three years. Now that the fire departments are only taking trucks with auto...
Well next to last trailer to be picked up, one M448 left in Millington and I am done unless the price is just right on a otr flat bed comes along! The 818 didn't seem to know the M127 was behind it on the ninety mile trip home, until we got to the really steep grade to the cabin then we were...
It may be a fuel problem, because it can have a rise and fall to the idle as well. New lines are in the future, I like the truck but it is a monster to start.
James
I have only had experience with three M818s and all are hard to start! I see why they have the four batteries, but why are they soooo hard to start? Yesterday it took thirty min. of trying and a Deuce for battery backup to start mine. Or is it just the ones I have come in contact with?
James
I am going to make my first pick-up with my 818 Monday, about a 180 mile round trip. I have been reading up on the fifth wheel and mine doesn't match up the drawings in the TM, any help is appreciated.

I just got back Thursday, I won't be going back until the 96 OTR flatbeds come up for sale, they are supposed to be in mint condition and a ton of them, six trips in three weeks at $700 in gas has worn me out!
