Stop the Whaa, Whaa, Whaa and get busy. What is a post without pictures. By the way, the base vehicle is "PINK" and not tan. Just for the record.

    WC-51 Restoration or Bust!!

The wood is red oak. It was originally dried at the mill and it has been sitting in my climate controlled shop for about 1 1/2 years because I am notoriously slow ans Zout will attest to. Biscuits have been used for all joining and the box metal provides a very secure base.

    WC-51 Restoration or Bust!!

Spent quite a bit of time over the last couple days trying to mill the wood necessary to restore the WC cargo bed. Finally got all the pieces cut and installed with the exception of the four compartment lids. I have included a picture of the original cargo bed which was rough to say the least...

    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

I think Yellow Truck and Coach also built the DUKW. Maybe you could breed the two and end up with a sort of Platypus looking vehicle. I will be following this one closely and I am glad you finally were able to get it. [thumbzup]

Today's work involved sizing the interior oak cargo bed side boards to final dimensions and building a router jig to cut the metal wheel well plates that are installed on the sideboards. Lots of different cuts made it interesting but it worked out okay in the end. Started with the jig to cut a...

    Zout's Cookout

If you take that Spam and grind it up, mix it with some Kibbles and Bits that have been soaked in beef bullion, you will have a dead-on substitute.

    WC-51 Restoration or Bust!!

Started working on the wood sections of the cargo bed. I purchased 140 board feet of rough cut cured red oak which I will mill down as needed for the cargo bed. Began today with the interior side panels of the bed (outside is steel). Planed and finished sanded the wood sections and then cut...
