The towing "Hooks" are bolted to the front frame horns and have a riveted re-enforceing plate on the inside of the frame. They make towing the GI trucks a breeze. If your looking for a pair,(depending on where you are) I can sell/ship then complete for $75.00 for the pair. PM if interested:-D
Hello! and welcome to SS. I like your user name, do you ever see a show that was on TV in the eighties with the same name?..."V"..was a good show..enjoy all the info and all the people you'll meet here..all good..:-D:-D:-D:-D
I had a guy that used to buy all my CO2 fire exst. from the shelters that I had stripped out and he said they worked great for "calming" down a runaway diesel....for what this is worth...Merry Christmas:-D
I have a used one thats aluminium w/o the hand rail it has a couple of little dings but is very useable...$65.00 plus shipping, I can e-mail you pics if you'd like to check it out. Thanks Dan:-D
I wish I'd checked this thread out a little earlier as I have about a half dozen front shafts from M-1009's that I've cut for parts if anyone still needs one let me know and I'll find out how much to ship and give you good deal on one.:-D
I never had a problem with spraying a bit of kero into the intake to help an engine that's been sitting a while fire-up so I'd say it's not a big deal.:-D
If you are to the point of not caring about shipping I've got a clean, rust free gate shell. $100.00....I'll bet Fed-Ex would ship this, they'll ship anything....thanks....:-D
Yea, you don't HAVE to remove the front shaft but it only takes a few minutes to remove it from the front rear, I do it for the peace of mine that the drive line has been isolated from the road........one less thing to worry about when cuising down I-81......just a thought:-D
I've towed them may times with the GI tow bar and can say that they tow fine, I would definately unbolt front/rear D/S and bungee it to frame....Oh.. I'd also use the F-150 to tow it. just my 2cents worth......enjoy your '09:-D
I'm not sure if starting fluid is a good idea, I've used gasoline mixed with diesel fuel that I've sprayed into intake with spray bottle and this has worked well for me without putting undue stress on the glow plugs...just my 2cents
I've got a trans from one of my old M-1009s that I can strip-out and sell you for $45.00 plus shipping which shouldn't be much as the empty case doesn't weigh a lot.If interested let me know and I'll go out back and double check it for you.:-D
I've been dealing with this for the last year. I return the junk from the lot and tell them I've sold the rest that usually satisfies them....but don't expect a full refund even if you return the complete lot.I returned two HUMVEE noses and a transmission that cost me $155.00 total, they sent me...
