We should make a convoy, Alaska is a place I eagarly wish to return to. Unfortunatly much of Alaska has no roads...oh the pity.
Did I say unfortunatly...
Sounds like the solinoid is stuck in the closed position. By this I mean it's not releasing the plunger. Thus continuing to engage the starter. I'm not sure but I'd have to guess these trucks use a reduction starter.
For which I have to solutions.
Bliss thanks for the pic never seen one from that angle before.
Is the interior similar to an M109's van?
The cost is hard to pass up, those M820's in TX last week went for under a grand. They had no driveline but that's not really what I'm after and I'd hate to chop up a complete M820...
My F350 has a curb to curn turning radius of 56' a stock M920 89', I'm concerned stretching it 24" let along farther and what the resulting radius will be.
I don't expect this to be single track trailtruck but at 89' there is no way you can do a 3 point turnaround on a standard city street...
What's the designator on the trailer, don't think I've seen that on before.
Oh I did forget to say that the entire vehicle would receive a camo paint job. I just keept the white and gray to contrast your background.
In addition the cab would receive similar touches like Soni's M920A1...
With the M916 RV build thread reaching 4 pages I decided to start my own thread.
As many may know I've been trying to get my hands on an M920 for a completely separate project.
I've also been considering a M916 for it's own project. An expedition support vehicle or an XV for short. Unicat...
That is only a partial truth.
Yes in most states RV's are exempt from paying the Commercial registration rates.
However you still need a drivers license of the appropriate level to drive the vehicle. However in most states they consider in a non-commercial endorsement. Which means you are...
Well I was only considering moving the won auction home. The amount of time it'll spend in the shop. It'll need a new paint job.
Oshkosh ships via rail I wonder how they delivery nice new trucks? minus the aerosol paint job...
Unfortunately the FMTV uses Arvin Meritor, and the P-series snow equipment so they are obtainable.
The Tak-4 (awesome btw) is used on the MTVR, and the Striker (civilian airport) so they are obtainable.
For a M920 ideally we need AxleTech™ 5000 Series axles, which are used in the Global HET...
I was making a run (in a rental car) from SoCal to Phoenix to pick up some, we'll say stuff. We were about 50 miles in the boarder and got over taken by a Peterbilt 379, I know as it's my favorite model. We were doing a touch under 90, not a lot of law dogs in that area. They passed us like...
I found various truck part dealers that have entire housings hub to hub but I couldn't find any gears solo.
The assemblies are $1600, good take out. No gear ratio listed...
It looks like the biggest user of the Raockwell SUHD was the 916-920 trucks...darn the luck.
I wonder if you can by...
No but when a vehicle's report has excessive fuel use, motor pool gets a bad report card.
Just as an example and this was a user error. We use prokeys for fueling up, that data not only bills the SQ but links to the MP system to data log the miles and reg number.
Unfortunately the pro keys...
If I told you how much it costs to ship a fully loaded Inter-modal container, you'd crap yourself.
Railroads do one time shipments all the time and if there is no time-line it gets cheaper. The cost is cheaper because unlike trucks they move millions of lbs at a time not thousands. Very...
Assuming it work it doesn't take much to own your own business. Red and Black matters every 3 years and depending on the trade you can get grants.
Just because I have my own Businesses doesn't mean I'm big business. I have zero employees both are sole proprietor.
My intentions weren't to rub...
I considered that when I started bidding on the stuff coming out of Vegas. I live near a large yard with team tracks. Two trucks easily fit on an 85' flat, just not sure what the costs would be. Considering it would be $4+ for two trucks shipped via RGN, I think once you go over moving two...
Agreed 100%
However at this point I think it's safe to see this was a feeler thread.
I'm sure Soni will post an new thread outlining his knowledge, I for sure intend to heed.
It should be a wiki, sticky, or whatever we use in this forum...
It's called the black budget, and the titles of the fund and the fund amounts are public information. There are some pretty interesting spending for crazy titled projects...
I saw that 32 images, had to dry my keyboard.
M911 is a little more than I can justify, but I agree that is an excellent price.
I need to start playin the lottery cause my income isn't cutting it with my hobbies!!!
I don't believe so. (Just to clarify I thought you were asking about rear bumper fittings) I'm not afraid to say I'm wrong...
Is it not conceivable that you could mount it backwards on the M920 frame?
