How does the glove box stay closed?

CGarbee, It took me a while to get it right, but the correct spelling is George Mainieri.

Any problems with tapping one battery for 12v accessories?

With a $30 marine battery selector switch and an ammeter in the loop you can charge one battery at a time or both. You can tell how much charge each battery is taking and charge accordingly. It would also in the off position kill the whole electrical system and prevent any bleed off due to...

I posted an ad that I saw in my local paper for a 1940s Power Wagon for sale in the classified section of the Forum.

    Deuce Idle Temp

I have hit 200F+ on long pulls and always figured that was about as high as I wanted to see it. Haven't had a chance to really super check all cooling system hoses, petcocks etc so I figured that was a sefe temp so I wouldn't blow the weak link if there is one. Temp drops rapidly though as soon...

    Deuce Idle Temp

Good. I put a thermometer on my gun rack while it was running and it got to a balmy 62. Of course no wind, etc.

    Deuce Idle Temp

Thanks Fred. Am I correct in thinking these trucks have a 185 degree thermostat? Also, I don't have my heater installed yet, so I'm not sure about this, but would the heater be on the warm water side of things and been producing heat?

    Deuce Idle Temp

Deuce has been idling for about an hour in 25 degree weather with arctic grill cover closed and seems to top at 170 degrees. Seem about right?

    Brakes locked-in driveway!!

4X4, I didn't really rebuild it. When I took it apart it was full of funny globules of oil and grease but I could not find any bad seals, felts, weak springs, etc. For me it was just a thorough cleaning and then put it back together, no new parts. The kitchen counter will be a mess but you can...

    Brake Lights.

Brake Light Switch This is a picture of my airpack as taken out. The brake light switch is far left. The shiny aluminum nut is a reducer and the switch with rubber boot screws into that. The switch has on it for numbers;FASCO Indus NO 7332P/ORD NO 7064588. It is on the pressure side of the...

The air-upgraded Deuces have a compressor with one outlet under the dash in the cab. You can also adapt a gladhand to get air off the rear of the truck.

    Brakes locked-in driveway!!

Was curious because when I bled my brakes I didn't get any purple. The sticker on the underside of the master cyl. access had a sticker that said only to use silicone so I figuered the Mil. stuff was the brownish/yellow and not purple like the civvie stuff.

Can anyone tell me if the Mil. DOT5 brake fluid is purple like the civvie DOT5 is?

    Power Steering

Check out Inter Agency Motor Pool and look for Air-O-Matic Power Steering. If memory serves price is around $1100.00. Yo, Wick46, you hit the submit button before I did.

    M35A3/M36A3 In cab heater

Yup, that's exactly what I saw. You have to run the hoses through the firewall on that side of the engine compartment. Mounting it there does not take up as much room as you would think. It also would make working on the drivers side of the engine a lot easier. I think it is a good tradeoff...

    M35A3/M36A3 In cab heater

No Kenny, it doesn't look like that. I haven't had a chance to compare what I saw to my uninstalled heater, but it appeared to be very similar. Bomar, my GF's Toyota has a lever on the dashboard that either selects outside air or recirculates. Problem with that is in cold weather all the...

    M35A3/M36A3 In cab heater

Went by a Guard Transportation Battalion today about 40 miles from home. Stopped in to check out the vehicles that were just back from Iraq. Lots of M915 and M915-A1's. Checked out a M35A3 and a M36A3. Like the heater mounted inside on the passenger side. Takes a little footroom but not much. I...
