If my memory is correct, that is an electronically controlled engine. You would have to swap in all that is required to run the engine (ECU, sensors, etc). I have heard of people swapping in a Cummins first gen 5.9 turbo diesel. It is full mechanical, with minimal electronics and pretty...
One of the main sticking points was the single circuit brake system. At least they can be modded for a dual circuit setup like the American A3's. Another point was the rear suspension trunion. With our winters up here and the amount of salt that is put down in one season, there were a few...
4 years ago on Christmas eve, just as all 25 guests were arriving, we lost electricity at 5 pm due to a wind storm. I tried to continue cooking the Turkey on the BBQ but the wind was so strong it kept blowing it out. So I had to dig out the generator ( a 9000watt Rigid tool) and run power into...
Hey there Cattlerepairman, I am guessing by your name that you are somewhere west (way west) of Toronto? I am south east of Montreal. If I had the means, I would love to get my hands on one of those deuces. I worked on them my whole career of 27 years in the reserves here in Quebec. I would get...

Good looking Iltis! I would love to get my hands on one. I started out working on the M38's and the 151's, then we received the Iltis. Pretty good vehicle when you know the limitations of what it can do. Very capable off roader and decent on the highways. Some owners have pulled the original 1.7...
Salut jcdostie! Welcome to the site. Great looking truck you have there. Where in Quebec are you located? I am south east of Montreal. Ex-military mechanic that would love to get my hands on a MLVW or Iltis. Cheers!
Here is what I have: At wheel depth, up to the hub, the resistance would be the weight of vehicle plus cargo. At fender depth, the resistance would be twice vehicle weight plus cargo. At turret or cab depth, the resistance would be 3 times vehicle weight plus cargo. I got this info from this...
"Timmies" refers to Tim Horton's coffee. Its like your Dunkin' Donuts chain only "better" 8) ! So if ever in Canada and someone offers you a " double double ", you are being offered a Timmies, 2 crème and 2 sugar.
Hi Lenny, Try putting the lower left arm in the panel bright or panel low position. When you want head lights, markers, brake, and flashers, all you need to do is move the top arm to the right to service drive. Everything should work for you. Enjoy!
