    Rebuilding the Injection pump

The search function is your friend. Torque spec is 65-70 ft-lbs. See copper washer above. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/hydraulic-head-leaking-need-advice.52223/

WS-133 Minuteman Missle carrier Truck :) Weight?

@jake1086 that paint scheme would look very neat. Can you imagine recreating one of those trailers and taking the complete rig to shows? I wouldn't think an original trailer survived (in the wild; outside of a museum). You definitely grabbed a rare truck!

WS-133 Minuteman Missle carrier Truck :) Weight?

Congrats to the purchase! Not intending to hijack, but I tried to find out what a "WS-133" was. Wow...GMC V-12 engine.....and I found a little article and pic: https://www.telegram.com/story/special/2017/01/03/cars-we-remember-gmc-powered-missile-transporter-truck-memories/22838968007/ The...

    Rebuilding the Injection pump

You are right about this plug not having any sealing washer. A common jungle fix, when they leak, is to put a copper crush washer underneath. Good that cleaning and re-seating stopped the leak. As the name suggests, there is a plunger underneath this plug. If your truck won't start and the fuel...

Shifting techniques of experienced Deuce Drivers

May I suggest that we get back on topic here? The question asked by the OP was a very good one. He is seeking advice and he received some very good one. The CONSENSUS is that the Deuce transmission is a standard synchronized transmission and should be driven as such, clutch for every gear...

    M108 deuce wrecker engine swap

So clever to use an engine hoist for the door. I lifted it by hand and was surprised by how heavy it was, trying to not throw my back out, lowering it all the way to the ground. I also put it back the same way because, well, some of us never learn.

Shifting techniques of experienced Deuce Drivers

There are some good videos on YouTube about shifting standard transmissions. Technically, with the synchronized 2-5 gears in the Deuce you do not need to double-clutch, or rev-match on downshifts but it sure does help (because the parts involved are relatively massive and spinning at high rpm...

    Fuel filter adapters

In reality, not even free to the buyer because this "cost of doing business" is, with many vendors, already factored into the advertised price of the item. The consumer pays, no matter what.

    Fuel filter adapters

All I can say is that I have visited the man in his lair, admired his gun truck and his assortment of military vehicles and trailers and find him absolutely trustworthy. I have ordered from him and am happy with the shifter boots and winch cover. Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

Shifting techniques of experienced Deuce Drivers

FWIW, my transmission is tight and I am running 40W and it is indeed easy to shift - and it absolutely hates getting gears floated. I drive 10 speed and 18 speed trucks and I know what I am doing. My Deuce wants the clutch, plain and simple. Double clutching and rev matching on the way down...

    Deuce Roofs?

Oh no!! However, people are always looking for hardtops. Maybe you can identify what yours is for and sell it. There definitely is a market. Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

    Power steering conversion?

Apologies, missed that. Thought we were talking Deuce. Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

    Deuce Roofs?

I agree, however I have seen here that a couple members bought hardtops that had what appeared to be the correct data plate (stating 2.5 ton and 5 ton) but ended up being hardtops that were too large (not sure what they were for, 900 series or early LMTV air drop variants, no idea), so I...

    Deuce Roofs?

Your Deuce cab measures 70 at the back and 63 at the windshield . A 900 series hardtop will be wayyy out of those measurements and around 10 inches too wide at the windshield. With a grain of salt (verify!) the number on the hard top should be NSN 2540-01-096-5023

    Power steering conversion?

Yes, M800 series and M35 have the same cab dimensions. Hard top will fit.

    Power steering conversion?

IF (big if) this is a Deuce carcass that has power steering and a Cummins, I'd consider repurposing that whole drive train, not only the power steering. The cheapest conversion/upgrade is the one where someone else has already gone through all the pain and money to make it functional. Sent...

    Deuce heading to the Museum

Bittersweet, for sure. At least the museum is likely to take care of the trucks as opposed to a random buyer with plans to "improve" them into rock-climbing contraptions or mud bog rigs.

    Gasser Deuce top speed?

I started off with VW Beetles that had oil bath filters. I guess they "worked" to some extent because there was indeed sludge forming in them but I was always questioning how well they actually kept particles out of the intake. Back then, an engine would not be expected to run 250k km or miles...

    Gasser Deuce top speed?

I wonder if something in the old intake collapsed under load to make it suffocate so badly. The new air cleaner setup looks like you harnessed a 500hp beast under that hood! :)
