I think 2 of my 3 Deuces were C turbos. I liked them a lot. Other people no so much. I really like started them in the barn and listening to the whine when they spooled up.
Congrats and saving one and getting it rebuilt.
Thank you for the pics. I was trying to figure out if the shift lever has a pushbutton on the center of the shaft and whether it locks out reverse. Right now mine has a turned piece of metal (aluminium) with no lockout at all. I "could" drive down the road and shift from 5th into reverse by...
While I am too old to try doing something this extensive I do have questions about it. You had a 754 in it. Was that the stock 5 speed AND the most important part, do you still have the shifter or pictures? thx
@Peaches When I put my motorcycle helmet through an A$$holes CUCV windshield your Dad was the first to call me on my way home to give me sage advice. Keep your helmet on Steve.
And now Zout has passed and who could forget your Dad betting that he could flip a hamburger at Zout's house with his...

Thoughts out to his family and friends.
We'll miss you Dave.
RIP

For a 1008 I would want the M101A2 because they have the same wheel lub pattern. The main difference that I...
Welcome to the site.
I got a chuckle out of the drain plug concern. Not a bad chuckle, just a reminder. That was a very common question back when I joined 18 years ago.
As for painting, I've done a Deuce and a M813 with rattle cans from Rapco. Used 18 for the Deuce and 22 for the M813...
The bane of anyone supporting websites. SSL Certs.
I had to support a bunch for our Amazon Cloud service. Then they automated all ours using ACME. (Yes, it is just what the name says as you run headlong into a tunnel painted on a rock wall.)
Back to Sarge.
I recommend anyone that wants to...
