    Just Another 1088 Overland Build

Your build is coming along at mach speed!! I can't post links to IG on the forum but there's someone on there that ryhmes with, jvlandreneau. They've changed trucks so you might have to scroll back a bit but they had a rack like I think you're building. I ran mine up the front, slightly...

Worth it or not- snow chain tightener Chain Dawg

Same concept but I have one of these. Or something like it, this is the first one I found. https://www.amazon.com/Ancra-50025-10-Lever-Tightener-10-Inch/dp/B002JG3MT4

LMTV M1078 3D CAD Model on OnShape

I don't think you will have any problem learning Fusion. While I haven't used Fusion much myself, for arguments sake, it's the same as Inventor and I've bounced between Solidworks and Inventor a few times.

    Just Another 1088 Overland Build

Subbed! Can't wait to see more. If you're posting those videos in real time, as-in, you haven't been filming the last 3 months and posted 4 quick updates, you are absolutely killing it! I expect that you'll have the habitat done sometime mid-next week. Did you see Chad's (Broke Overland)...

Charge air hoses... Anyone have a lead?

You can replace them with silicone from a myriad of sources but yours are longer than most so check the length. http://www.siliconeintakes.com/silicone-hose/intercooler-piping-p-40.html

Who did this to my LMTV MPU!

Were you doing this in CAD or on paper? An all encompassing schematic would be awesome or it could just be too cumbersome. It's possible to export layers from Autocad to a PDF and Adobe reader is able to turn on/off layers so that might help make things more manageable. You could have...

Looking for Someone to Fabricate a Roof Rack for My LMTV

Can you weld or have any interest in learning? I don't see it on their website but saw on one of their youtube videos that traxoffgrid.com has a DIY roof rack kit. You'd have to contact them for more info/pictures.

Looking for Someone to Fabricate a Roof Rack for My LMTV

Agreed with everyone else. I could do it but I'm sure you have 4x4 shops that would be much more efficient (cheaper) and local. Find someone that can roll tube, not just a bender. A roller will give you the sweep that follows the windshield like BrokeOverland.

    M1083 (6x6) A0 - Pneumatic P&ID / Schematic

Hey all, FYI, there is approx 450ft of tubing and 125 fittings for the air system including the CTIS, not including the rubber hoses to/from the hubs. In a quest to replace all the tubing in my truck, I needed to trace out all the lines. After much frustration trying to decode the P&ID in...

    Aligning the doors

I've taken mine off/on a few times. I'd say it's much easier with 2 people, one to hold/move the door and one to tighten the bolts. a platform to stand on since the hinges are 6-8ft off the ground. Bending them? The hinges? The latch on the door has some adjustment. If it takes too much...

    6x6 V-Link Boots

The boots on my V-links were all cracked and various stages of disintegration. I couldn't find replacement boots, only entire V-link replacements with boots of unknown condition. I contacted a couple companies about custom boots and the replies were none or too expensive. So, I made my own...

    FMTV steel grilles

Bump. Looking for an original metal shark grill. I've been looking on ebay for a couple months but unless my search alert isn't working nothing has come up. Shoot me a message if you have one for a reasonable cost. Cheers.

    Frame Stretch

Just to play devils advocate, regarding the fish plates.... (I have been in the 4x4 community for a long time, I know fish plates are the status quo) I design bridge cranes and we splice beams together when the span is over 65'-ish. Our beams are A992, not heat treated. Side note: Can anyone...

    Replacement seat options

Quickly scanned this thread and I don't think Eric's blog made it on here. Did you see this: https://builtmfg.com/2018/06/26/pick-your-seat/ Apologies if some of these (below) were posted in this thread but here are my crude seat notes when I was shopping. Ultimately, I went with...

    M1088 camper conversion

I think that answered my question. Why the cab end and not in the middle I assume to keep the pass-thru lined up...? Good call on changing the spring rates!

    M1088 camper conversion

For steel budgeting, estimate based on weight. In Denver, as someone in the general public, you can budget about $1.25/lb for structural tubing and get in the right ballpark. Chris' pricing, compared to Denver anyway was great. Loving the build!! Are you going to hard mount any of the...

    My tip for spare relays

Just about any automotive style 4/5 pin 30/40a relay should work. Here are the ones that I used for a tad less money: 24v: https://www.alliedelec.com/product/te-connectivity/1432795-1/70199412/ 12v https://www.alliedelec.com/product/te-connectivity/1432790-1/70198901/ Spankybear is correct...
