In tank fuel pump substitute for M35

Did you guys run new line from the 4603 or use expanders/adapters to go from 3/8" to 1/2"? Thinking about going this route and pulling the original pump apart.

    Fuel pump issues

Anyone know how to pull this plug? The wire is pretty beat and a little stiff for my liking at the end. If the pump has to come apart I think I'm going to order a Carter 4603 and run that while I'm going through this.

    DEAL OF THE WEEK!!

My deal of the week is a federal signal corporation SS2000SM light/siren control module WITH the wiring harnesses. I've been kinda sorta after one for my 9C1 forever, but I might put an alternator and battery on the deuce just for it (12v). Really nice unit List: $200.00 Paid: $2.14 Happy is...

    M939 mystery spring

My guess was brake pedal spring, but if your throttle pedal is wonky, I think you found the culprit

    M35a2 to M275 conversion

Do you remember roughly how much you have to shorten the frame?

    Fuel pump issues

I might try the batteries on the ground, if necessary. After reading through both of those links I'm confident that the pump will run after some carb clean and the fixes mentioned above. Not a lot in them to fail

    Fuel pump issues

Silly question, since I have no way to provide 24v outside of the truck, if I hit this pump with 12v, will it run at half capacity, backwards, or not at all? Also, has anyone tried to drill the rivets and pop one of these open? If after refurbishing the electrical supply system (4 screws, a...

    Fuel pump issues

Decided to try and find why the pump was inoperable, found a number of issues. Suspect 1 was a blown fuse, so ignoring that completely I pulled the pump out of the tank and boy was I glad I did, either the p/o didn't use submersible fuel line or he did and my use of pump diesel ate the...

Priming the oil system after hibernation

I have searched and come up empty, is there a way to engage the gear on the pump and prime the system prior to starting? I have a tool for Chevy small blocks that connects to a power drill and drops down the distributor hole to engage the pump, wondering if such a tool exists for the LDT/LDS. If...

Checking Brakes and Steering on My 83 M35A2

That seems to be a manner of personal preference, some guys run 3, some run 4, some run 5. The common consensus is 5 makes the wheel cylinders last the longest, but it's also the most expensive. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/why-do-i-need-dot-5-brake-fluid-in-my-deuce-1-2.219254/ Good...

    Need some help

To me, that sounds like a flooding carburetor. Could be the opposite problem though and you could have a starving carburetor, but either way, I would start there.

CAT HEUI issues, failures and fixes

Not quite, the Ford 6.4 and 6.7 pumps look like tiny V engines. The 6.0 looks closer, 7.3 even more so, but none are the same as the cat engines.

CAT HEUI issues, failures and fixes

Of course. Can't be that simple 😆. The hunt continues. Thanks for clarifying that After poking around in more RV forums, can confirm the square style pump was part of the 3126E update. Another search says the E pump and B pump are interchangeable, researching more on that now.

Colorado Springs Possible major break down.

That's what I meant by timing, I should have said injector pulse width.

    New From Idaho

It appears that these trucks were civilian issue that the army just purchased and used, everything is stock international. If you can, post a pic of the data plate on the glovebox, that should shed a little light. If what I read is correct 4x4 was achieved with a Dana 70 up front and a...

Colorado Springs Possible major break down.

Could be, but I would bet the timing is more accurate with a new pump. Edit: How much of an increase in fuel pressure did you notice on the diagnostics afterwards?

CAT HEUI issues, failures and fixes

https://www.irv2.com/forums/f124/interesting-heui-discovery-481583.html I know links from outside websites are generally frowned upon, but since there's so little information or pics on a teardown out there I hope it will be forgiven, also just in case the link dies I downloaded the pics so...

CAT HEUI issues, failures and fixes

What we're trying to achieve here is a more intricate understanding of how and why these things fail, with a focus point on the 3126B, which seems to have the highest failure rate. I have not been able to find a rebuild kit for this, if someone knows of one please post it here. I understand...

Colorado Springs Possible major break down.

Is anyone starting a thread dedicated to HEUI failures/troubleshooting? I've been researching and found some good information, seems like since this thing is kryptonite for both the 3126 and C7, it may be worth having its own thread. If not I'll post findings here. Glad to see it's running again.
