Well, I still have to wear ear plugs. Free iPhone app says max 97 dB while driving with the windows/floor vents closed. My windows need to be adjusted to seal better, and I have a few firewall holes to plug. I can attest to the insulation working really well, but my hopes of ditching ear...
My transfer case started leaking a small puddle wherever I parked. I figured the vent was clogged. Yesterday afternoon before the LSU game I removed the floor plate between the 2 air ride seats. Although the vent wasn't clogged I don't like the design. Not sure what pressure it takes to...
The groove for the boot/clamp has to absolutely positively be clean for the boot to stay put. Spray brake cleaner on a blue shop towel and wipe the entire groove. Any little bit of grease will not be your friend here. Take your time so you don't have to do it again. I prefer the silicone...
Below are pictures of the completed Vintage Air A/C + heat + defrost install. I also took time to touch-up the tan paint in places where the Lizard Skin 2 coating system overspray landed.
The last thing to do in the cab is to paint the dash. You can see that some of the dash plates were...
Here are a few pictures of the preparation and completion of the 2 Lizard Skin coating systems inside the cab. This was completed before the Vintage Air A/C was finished. I will upload all of the final A/C pictures tomorrow.
Comments:
- Lizard Skin Sound Control was put down first. Then 24...
Finally had time away from work to finish wiring the 24 volt Warn Series 18 winch. Tested it and it works! Old man Murphy must be sleeping today.
Here's a shortcut to the post on my build thread in the hot rod section...
Finally finished wiring the 24 volt Warn Series 18 winch. As always find all of the pictures on my website listed below (modifications page / electric winch), but for now here are a few teaser pics.
Comments:
- Not sure on how much 2/0 cable was included in the kit, but I only had 18 inches...
I use a really well-built SS t-bolt clamp on my mushroom filter and elbow extension. Are you using a regular worm gear clamp? No screwdriver either. 1/4 drive ratchet. These are just helpful suggestions. You may know all of this already.
:funny:
I sure would be tired after I torqued all them wheel nuts. I went with the easier weld-in HEMTT plates. Any other plans for your new bobber? Looks great.

Microwave some popcorn before you open this K&N thread. Lots of passionate people on both sides of the filter discussion.
Not really. Any hobby costs money. If I had a racecar I would have spent a lot more. I only have one MV so that helps.
No real big mods left to do. I'm finally happy with it now. Safe. Reliable. No HH to worry about. :) Cruises ALL DAY LONG at 55mph with A/C + heat now. What more could a...
Thanks for the comments (as always). :D
Take a look at post #301 for close-up pics of the air shutoff valve. I pull a cable in the cab and it slams the blast gate shut on the inlet to the turbocharger. In order to shut down the engine you need to take away fuel/air/spark. No spark on a...
Finished the air conditioning system and took an updated walk around video for my YouTube page.
Check it out and let me know what you think!

Finally got a chance to take another video for my YouTube page. It's a general walk around showing what I've completed to date (10/02/15).
Air conditioning is done! Next up is a storage location for my towbar.

I've only got 900 miles on the Cummins 5.9L 12-valve that I swapped into my bobbed deuce. The only casualty so far was a Horton fan clutch, but eBay came to the rescue. If you poked me with a stick until I told you a negative to the swap it would probably be the Allison AT545 transmission's...
Soni, can you tell me why these trains need to be moved around? Are they museum pieces moved about for display or restorations that have to be transported to their final resting place?
